John looked at the little boy talking to Etta. He couldn't be anymore than 8 years old.
Etta: Ok Blu, I'll be there in a minute. Go back inside please.
The little boy looked back at John curiously and walked in the house.

The little boy looked back at John curiously and walked in the house. John: Why didn't you tell me you were a mother.
Etta: It's complicated.
John: But all the times we talked you never once mentioned have a kid.
Etta: I didn't think there was a need. I just thought we would remain acquaintances. Look I have to go.
John: Etta.
Etta: Sorry John. I have to go. She closed the door. John stood there for a moment.
John: She has a kid. Days had passed and she had not returned his phone calls. John couldn't understand what he had done to be treated like this.
John: That's it Etta. You have avoided me too long.
John got on his bike and drove to Gifted Hands. It was the salon where she worked.
He looked around the room and saw her talking to a client. He waited to get her attention. She excused herself and walked to him with a frown on her face. She grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to the doorway.
Etta: What are you doing here?
John: Why are you avoiding me? What did I do?
Etta: You know, if I was a teenage girl and you a vampire, this would be romantic, but this is real life so it's just plain stalkerish. You can't just show up to my job like this. I'm working.
John: Fine, then I'm a walk-in and I'll wait for your seat to become open. Daniel: Is there something wrong E.
Etta: No. I'm alright Dan.
Daniel: Well you know where you can find me.
He looked at John up and down. John returned his look. John: If it's about the other night, I said I was sorry for kissing you. You didn't have to shut me out completely.
Etta: It's not that.
John: Your son? Well I've never tried to date anyone with a kid. But there is a first time for everything.
Etta: I have two.
John: You have TWO!
Etta began to walk away But John walked in front of her.
John: Ok. So I was shocked to know you had kids. But that's because you never mentioned it before. How am I supposed to react if you never led to the fact that you have children.
Etta: It's not just the kiss or my children John.
John: Then what is it.
Etta: I like you.
John: Then what is wrong with that? Etta: Because John. I have two kids and no father to them. I don't want to make the same mistake. Before. My daughter is only a year old and Blu is 6. I don't want them to get attached to someone only to hurt them because we are both looking for two different things. I have to think about them. I was hanging out with you and it was fun. But when you kissed me I didn't want to stop you. I knew it was getting too serious. I just can't do that. Not to them. John: How do you know if you never give it a chance? I'm not saying I want to marry you. I'm just saying that I like you and I want to spend time with you. I've never been with someone that has kids so there will be some learning on my part but I'm willing to try. At least give me a chance to try. We can take it slow, I don't care. I just don't want for us to miss out on what could be. If it doesn't work, then.....let's be good friends.
Etta began to laugh. She placed her hands on his head.
Etta: Have you actually been friends with a woman that you were interested in?
John: Well no, but I said there is a first time for everything.
She shook her head.
Etta: What am I going to do with you?
John: Go out with me. You and kids.
Etta: Can't we're having a picnic in the park. John: Then I'll come.
Etta: John
John: It will be fun.
Etta: I don't know.
She looked into his eyes and shook her head again.
Etta: 1 o' clock. Etta sat looking at her watch.
Etta: 1:30pm.
Blu: Are you ok mommy?
Etta: I am. Let's begin eating before our juices get warm in the sun. She looked at her watch again. Getting more nervous at every tick.
John: Sorry I'm late.
She turned behind her to see John standing there. She smiled in relief.
John: Sorry. I wasn't sure what to wear when you are meeting the family. I changed clothes at least 12 times. Etta laughed again as she picked up the little girl next to her.
Etta: John. You've met Blu [she pointed to the boy now eating a sandwich]
Blu waved at him and tried to say hello only to have bits of the sandwich come out instead.
Etta: And this is Jasmin.
John: Hello [he smiled at both of them] He leaned over to talk to the little girl. But she was holding on tight to her mother and the closer he got, the more she buried her face in her mother's hair. When he leaned back she turned to smile at him.
John: She is just as pretty as her mother.
Etta: If you're trying to win points....keep talking. He and Blu played as well. At first throwing the football to each other and then playing tag. John always let Blu catch up to him to tag him.
The following week, John sent Blu tickets for a concert that was going on in town.
Etta: I've been trying to get these for months.
John: I got connections that's all. I remembered Blu talking about it and just wanted to do something for the kid. You have a good one right there. John enjoyed spending time with Etta and the kids.
He took Etta to all the hot spots in the city.
John: Sometimes its good to just get away every now and then. Take a break from being mom. In between his recording sessions, John would always come and visit Etta and kids. He tried teaching Blu how to play baseball. Unfortunately, the 6 year old was not a very good catch, but he could throw. Some evenings, he would come over and cook dinner while Etta was at work.
There were very few things he knew how to cook but it was nice having someone with the children when she couldn't be there to pick them up from the sitter. He made sure Blue finished his schoolwork for the day and put the two to bed. Always making sure to read them a story. Jasmin always needed a big hug before she would go to sleep. And when she arrived home, dinner would be in the oven keeping warm.
Etta: I'm sorry you had to pick the kids up for me. You could have left them at the sitter.
John: So you'd have to pay extra. Don't bother. I'm glad to help. Besides, it gives me an excuse to see you again.
They would discuss their day and all the ups and downs that went with it.
She had begun to trust John more. She even gave him a spare key to her place in case he wanted to stop in. At night after a late gig he would come by and get into bed with her. There they would just sleep. And while his relationship with Etta was slowly growing, his music career was picking up fast. His debut single was hitting the airwaves and he was becoming a "must know-unknown". Richard: J baby! What did I tell you? I knew you were something special. Look I've just booked you on a multi-city tour. You'll be opening for Shoot to Thrill. You like, you like!
John: Sure Rich. Wow, Shoot to Thrill
Richard: Ok, I'll get the paperwork ready. I need you in rehearsals for the next few weeks. We begin next month.
After making a few phone calls he went over to tell Etta the good news.
Etta: Wow....a tour....that's great. I'm really happy for you.
John: What's wrong.
Etta: Nothing
John: I'll only be gone for 6months. Besides, we have cell phones.
Etta: I know. Well. You go become a star, John. You give them their monies worth
She hugged him. But deep down she was really sad with the news. She knew this meant she would not see him for a while. John,
It's good to see the tour is picking up for another month. Of course the kids miss having you around. Okay, I do mostly. I looked at all those pictures from you on tour with the other bands, it's amazing you're still alive with everything you said goes on. I wanted to send this pic of Jasmin. Shortly after you leaving she began walking. I knew you'd be surprised to see how big she has gotten since the last month you saw her. Blu says hello and come back soon.

Etta The tour actually last 9 months. John's single went gold and his label was in the process of releasing a second song. All before even releasing a video. Although there were many interpretations of them on SimTube. Meanwhile, Etta was back in SimCity taking care of the kids. She had been promoted to second chair at the salon and was making more money. John could not take off the tour to visit for Blu and Jasmin's birthday. So he sent them gifts instead. For Jasmin, a new doll house and toys. He bought Blu the latest Playbox 360.
Etta: I can't believe you sent him that. Now I can't keep him away from the tv.
John: Sorry I can't be there. I do miss them both. And you.
Etta: When are you coming back?
John: Soon. And he was right. Soon was just days away. And as soon as the tour was over he went straight to Etta and kids. That night, Etta and John went out to a movie. It started out just as their other dates had. But as they left the movie theater a strange man walked up to them snapping pictures.
Shortly afterward a crowd of people also leaving the show began to stare. Finally a woman had recognized him.
Lady: OMG! You're J. Sans. I saw you in concert two months ago. You were awesome. Can I have your autograph.
John looked over at Etta who had shrugged her shoulders at him.
John: Sure. It didn't take long before more people began leaving the movie theater to get his autograph and take pictures with him.
While the crowd was getting bigger Etta was slowly being pushed aside.
The photographer that started the whole commotion began taking pictures of her as well and asking her questions.
Photographer: So how does it feel to the other woman.
Etta: What?
Photographer: C'mon miss. Everyone knows he's with his old flame Lola Jewels, the Night Life queen. What do you think she would say to the two of you hanging out.
Etta was confused. She never heard of Lola. She tried getting John's attention but he could not hear her amongst the crowd. She realized after standing there for close to 30minutes that he was too busy with all the excitement. She slowly gathered her things and flagged a cab home. The next morning John called to invite her to lunch at the park.
At first she was a little reluctant, still upset from the night before.
John: 1:30. She's a 1/2 hour late.
Etta: Looking for someone? He walked over to her and hugged her.
John: I thought you were still mad at me.
Etta: I am. But I love a picnic. [she smiled] John: I said I was sorry for leaving you like that. I didn't know that was going to happen.
Etta: It's not the crowd, it's that you forgot about me. Like you forgot you came with someone. So I decided I didn't want to be there. Let you have your time with your fans. I just felt stupid standing there, with that paparazzi. Telling me I was the "other woman". John: Other woman?
Etta: Something about breaking up you and Lola.
John: Lola? She was my ex years ago.
Etta: Well according to the net, you two are still an item.
John: Come on Etta. You can't believe everything you read. Besides, since when are you looking me up on the web.
Etta: I was trying to figure out who was this Night Life queen.
John went on to explain how Lola and he began dating years ago, before he was making a name for himself. But her career as a model picked up and she left him behind. Now that he is beginning to make it, she is linking herself to him.
John: I don't care about her.
He placed his hand on top of Etta's He got up from the picnic and went back to the car to get his guitar.
John: While on tour I thought about you alot. I began to write more songs. I'm thinking about adding them to my next album. When I was doubting myself you kept believing in me and I'm glad you did. So I wrote this for you.
John began to sing to Etta. It was a beautiful song that made her smile as he sang the words. After singing, he placed the guitar down and walked closer to her.
John: Did you like it?
Etta placed her hands on his face. Etta: It was beautiful.
They kissed.
Can their relationship withstand his growing FAME. Part III to come.

Okay. He seems like a nice enough guy and she's pretty grounded--they're a pretty good couple. Hopefully they make it and neither of them does something utterly dopey. Nice job!
