Taylor Kane sat at the table looking at the small white stick.
Taylor: Pregnant again.
Just a few years earlier Taylor was unwed and into her 3rd year in college. She put off school to become a single mother and take care of her child. The father, Blake, wanted nothing to do with her or the baby. But she found a friend in her next door neighbor Trent Foxx. In fact, the two spent so much time together that their friendship turned into love. And after Brody was born, he helped take care of the little one. He moved both mother and son into his home and into his heart. The small apartment became too crowded and so the three of them moved into a bigger place down the street. I was nice and quaint. Just right for the three of them. But now that they were settling in to becoming a family. She had no plans of being a mother again. At least not until she was married.
But now that they would be expecting a child she didn't know when she should tell him or how. She was scared and nervous all at the same time.
Trent came home earlier than usual excited and calling for Taylor
Trent: I have great news! My Momala is coming.
Momala was Trents godmother who took care of him after his mother passed.
Trent: I haven't seen her since I left Greece when I was 18.
Taylor had heard Trent speak of her on a number of occassions. She was a second mother to him.
Taylor went full force at cleaning the apartment for Momala. She knew that to Trent she meant everything to him. He had just received word that she was visiting her other children and decided to drop in to visit him as well. It would only be a few hours before she would get here. And when she did, Trent leaped for the door and gave the elder woman a giant hug. It was as if he was a school boy all over again. Trent: Oh Momala, here is Taylor. Isn't she just as I described her.
Momala: Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Taylor: IT'S MY PLEASURE TO MEET YOU MOMA. I'VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT YOU.
Momala: Dear child. WHY ARE YOU YELLING? IS SHE DEAF?
Trent: No Moma
Taylor: I am so sorry. When Trent spoke of you I just assumed you did not speak the language well.
Momala: Oh goodness. I spent more than half of my years in America raising children. I just decided to go back hom to Greece to live with my husband. It's my home country.
Taylor: I'm so humiliated.
Momala: Don't be.
Trent came walking down the stairs.
Trent: And here is little Brody.
Momala: Such red hair. I take it's from his father.
Taylor: Yes Momala.
Momala took the young child in her arms.
Later that evening they sat around for dinner.
Trent: Taylor is an excellent cook. I told her we should open a bakery or a restaurant.
Taylor: I tried using your recipe Moma. I hope you like it.
Momala: Nothing's better than the original but this will do just fine.
Taylor frowned.
At the table the two of them talked more and more about Trent growing up as a little boy. Trent tried to steer the conversations back to Taylor. But she kept quiet most of the time listening to the two of them. At times she would get lost when Momala would mix in Greek and Trent would follow.
She soon excused herself from the table to put Brody to bed.
Momala: Guess who I ran into before leaving. Detrisa. Remember her. How you two were so in love? I thought you two were going to get married.
Trent: Momala, we were only in high school. Besides I've moved on and grew up.
Momala: She asked about you. And I told you about your current situation and gave her your number.
Trent: Momala you should not have done that.
They went on talking more.
Taylor had finished cleaning the kitchen and had settled in front of the tv when Momala came in the room.
Momala: That boy of yours is something. So vibrant, so energetic.
Taylor: Thank you Momala.
Momala: That is why I must ask you how serious you are about my Trent?
Taylor: I care about him deeply. We're in love.
Momala: You must excuse me if I am rude but I must be direct. I love Trent. I've always treated him like a son. I look out for him like his mother would and I want him to be happy.
Taylor: I do too.
Momala: Then why are you putting him through this.
Taylor was shocked.
Taylor: Through what?
Momala: Trent needs to make a family of his own. He needs to be with someone like him that he can make a future with. There is no room for him with an unwed mother.
Taylor: I don't understand. We are a family.
Momala: No. You and your child are a family. Why do you need Trent? Why didn't you try to make it work with your son's father instead of taking my boy. He doesn't know what he's getting himself into.
Taylor: Momala. I assure you that we love each other. And I am thankful for someone like Trent.
Momala: If you really love him then you will let him go. Did you know he had a job offer in another state. But he turned it down for you. To be there for you. He ruined what could have been his future.
Taylor: Trent never told me about a job offer.
Momala: And it pays more what he was getting sitting here being a Dj. But because he would have to travel 10 months out of the year, he didn't want to do it.
Momala: If you love him the way you say you do . . . .then let him go. Let him make something of himself. And if it's meant to be then he'll come back. It had been days since Momala left. All she could do was think about what Moma said. Was she holding him back? Was she right for him? And what about the baby? He had walked in late one night from hanging with friends.
Taylor: You're late.
Trent: Sorry I was out with Craig and lost track of time. I am so tired_
Taylor: I want you to leave.
Trent: Leave what.
Taylor: No I want you to leave.
Trent: Come on baby I don't want to argue. I said I was sorry. I didn't think I had a curfew to be home. From now on I'll make sure I'm home early.
He reached to rub her face and she pushed his hand away.
Taylor: You are not listening to me. I want you to GET OUT.
Trent: Look, I don't know what pills you're taking but it's making you say something and act like you don't normally act. Now let's sleep on this and talk in the morning.
Taylor: NO! I am sick and tired of being your little maid. Doing the dishes, washing your dirty underwear. I want to do something on my own. I want to be by myself.
Trent: What? How long have you been thinking about this
Taylor: For some time now.
Taylor: I don't want to be with you anymore. You bring me down and the longer I'm with you the sick and tired I get of you. I just want you to leave me alone.
Trent looked deep in her eyes.
Trent: You're serious
Taylor: Hellloooooooo. Finally you got the point.
Taylor: I don't want to be with you. You're weak.
Trent: I can't believe what I'm hearing. This is not you. This is not Taylor. What is wrong with you. Yesterday we were fine and now you're talking to me like this. Just tell me what I did wrong and I'll fix it baby. We can make it work.
Taylor: Just GO!!
Trent: Is there someone else?
Taylor hesitated.
Taylor: Yes. Yes there's someone else. And I'm tired of sneaking around with him.
Trent's heart dropped. His shoulders dropped as if a giant weight had been put on them. He felt a lump in his throat. And then he looked up in her eyes. They were cold and not welcoming as they had been once before. He had this feeling before with his last fiancee when he found out she cheated on him. Trent: FINE! You want me out I'm out. But let me tell you this, I loved you. I loved you more than anything in the world. And to make it worse I still love you. I'm going to give you time to cool off but when I'm ready to come home I'm not leaving. He took one last look at her. She had turned her back to him. He went out the bedroom and slammed the door. She cried in her hands. It had almost a month since Trent left and it was Brody and her in the apartment. Just was she was geting restless she decided to call someone she could turn to. Erika: I'm so happy you finally called me. It has been awhile since I've seen my grandbaby.
Taylor: Well you know I've been busy now that it's just me and the baby.
Erika: You know I've never been the one to pry but why is Trent out of the house. I thought you two were going to get married.
Taylor: Times changed mom. We were just not on the same path.
Erika: And does he know about the baby?
Taylor: Baby? But how-
Erika: Please girl. I knew you were pregnant last month. The mood swings, sudden sickness. I had you didn't eye. So I take it you didn't tell him.
Taylor: I didn't get the chance.
Taylor went on to explain the conversation she had with Momala.
Erika: That mean old bat. Who is she to tell you what you should do. If I knew that I would give her a piece of my mind.
Taylor: It doesn't matter. She was right. I am holding him back. And I don't want the baby to be the reason to stay.
Erika: You got it all wrong girl. You're so smart and so dumb at the same time. He needs to know. And if it's meant to be it will, regardless. He loves you and Brody and another baby would be more to love.
Don't ruin this over your pride.
Tears rolled down her face.
Taylor: I just don't know what to do anymore. I love him mama. I just don't want to hurt him.
Taylor laid in the bathtub soaking in the water. She poured the water over her face to dillute the tears. By now Trent had been long gone. He had left a week ago for the same job he had turned down earlier to be with Taylor and Brody. As much as she was hurting she knew she had made the right choice. But just as she was getting settled in one night the front door opened and a familiar voice called out to her.
There was Trent standing there with a single rose in his hands.
Taylor: What are you doing here?
Trent: Look I am tired. Tired of chasing. after you hoping you are going to stop running.
Now you've been hurt before. I have too. In fact that is what makes us so special. But I'm not going to keep coming back to you everytime things get rough and you want to quit. I love you too much to do that. He knelt down on one knew.
Trent: Taylor Kane, you mean everything to me. I couldn't think of living the rest of my life without you being a part of it. So I've come to you with open arms. Love me. Marry me.
Taylor: Mother told you didn't she.
Taylor: Mother told you about the baby.
Trent: Baby, what baby? You mean, you . . .. .me . . . . . we're.
Taylor: So you didn't know. No one told you I was pregnant?
Trent: Not until just now.
His face lit up with happiness.
Taylor: So you really want to marry me, just me.
Trent: Well not really. For you and Brody. He is as much apart of this than you and I.
He knelt down again. This time he took a box from his pocket.
Trent: Let me make you happy.
Taylor: Yes . . . .yes . . . . . . yes
Trent grabbed her and his her.

I just realized that all of your stories are connected in some way and what I mean is that I just put two and two together and realized that Blake from(Leela's Legacy) is the father of Taylor's son. i just love how your stories are intertwined that way, it makes everything more interesting.
