Grrr....Game Crashes

Blogpost added May 17, 2010, read 215 times

I seem to be having some problems with game crashes lately. It seems to only happen in the Create-A-Sim Screen - and only when I go into the hair portion. I have removed a few items of makeup and some of the larger poly hairs, as well as increasing the virtual memory allocation size on my computer - so we will see if that fixes it. Of course, it could be a mod, such as the facial sliders or something. I will be testing that soon. Taking this methodically. It doesn't seem to effect gameplay at all, so far as I have seen. Of course, I haven't played a lot in my new neighborhood to give that as full of a test as I need to. I did also turn down some of my graphics options previously, so as not to put as much of a load on my computer. We will see.

I seem to have fixed the crash on entering the hair screen. I think it was one of the too-high poly hair styles. I keep forgetting that my computer is 3+ years old.... I am sometimes getting a crash in the "Saved Sims" screen - but again, I have some memory-hogging Sims in there I think. I did delete a few of those. We will see. No crashes during play last night though - and I did load three Sims from Saved Sims - edited them a bit - and re-created two more that I had apparently lost.

I used to have that problem and I had to delete lots of cc. Now I just get the error 12  code but I think it's b/c I imported families from another world with omni-plants etc. (I don't know why for sure) I don't download as much now (although I was like you in the beginning) unless I absolutely have to try it. I don't know how other people can have so much cc especially high-poly cc and not have any problems.

I've started downloading more CC again - just staying away from the high-poly CC - and things seem to be working fine. Thanks for your input!
