THIS IS QUITE LONG COMPARED TO PART ONE!
To recap, we have been introduced to Poppy Carlton and her mother. She has just moved and has been freaked out a couple of times by a man staring at her. She has also found herself a boyfriend: Josh. Lets get started! Dear Diary,
3rd Septemer 06. Guess what? Josh asked me out! We went to the local park and sat and talked. He asked loads of questions about my mum! Like when does she go to work, and what time does she get back and all sorts. Strange, its ME he's on a date with for God's sakes. Dear Diary,
5th April 08. I have just found this diary from two years ago. I'll fill you in on the blanks.
"Mum! MUM! Where are you? Sorry I'm late. I got kept back. MUM!" There was no answer from my mother. So I searched the house. The last place I looked was the store cupboard. I nearly had a heart attack - I couldn't breath. My Mum was tied to a chair with that son of a pig Josh. My Mum screamed 'RUN'...I did what I was told for once: I ran...... ......And so Poppy ran and ran. Her heart thumping like a drum beat, sweat dripping from her forehead. She must not stop. Must...keep...on...going. From a distance and owl hooted, its call echoed through the pines...... But then I remember slipping and falling over a dead log. Maybe I was tired from the running, or the situation had completly gone to my head but I must have blacked out. When I came round I was sitting on a chair in a stuffy room with Josh and the man around me.
"You listen clear, you answer my questions and you live. Got it?
Where is it then? Well? WHERE DID SHE PUT MY MONEY!"
I had no idea what they were talking about then. What money? I didn't really know how to react.
"I don't know what your talking about! What money is it?"
I saw Josh flinch with anger. He turned to consult the man, this when I saw my chance. I wasn't tied to the chair so I could move about.
I shot out the door. They were too stupid to remember to lock it I guess! I remember Josh scream and the man try and grab me, but to no avail. I was the school 100m sprint champion you know! I recognised the area. It was that park that the wedding was held at. I dunno why I'm writing all this down. Two years ago is a long time. But anyway, I had to get my Mum. I had to get home. I didn't really cross my mind that they could've put my Mum elsewhere, but I was thinking of other things. I quickly untied my Mum, who I found still in the store cupboard. We didn't wait, I dashed out of the house with her on my tail.
"Mum?" I shouted, "WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?" "Mum, please tell me!"
"It's a long story but I think we have far to run. Ok, it all started when I married your father......" "...we got married in a tacky little chapel in some town. I loved him so much. I still do. It was from then on that things started getting weird for me..." "...he returned from work very late most days and it grew worse. He was becoming more and more adgitated. One day he whispered in my ear 'when im gone, look in the cellar, and yes we do have a cellar! theres a trap hatch under the rose bush.'..." "...a few months later the hospital rang and said he had been stung to death by bees. That night I looked in the cellar. What did I see? Barrels and barrels of simoleons just laying there. On one was a note. It read 'dear lydia, now that i have probs gone, plz do this for me. destroy this money'. But I couldn't...." "...I buried it in the field my grandfather had owned. Later that day I recieved an anonymous phone call. The people needed to meet with me urgently..." "...I met them as asked. They told me that your father was part of their gang. The money had been stolen from their rivals because they had had a huge disagreement. They needed me to join. I was the only one that knew where it was and I wanted to avenge my husbands anger..." "...we worked together about defeating out rivals. We met in their hideout and talked for hours. But a word must have got out somehow, and the other gang had found out. I knew they were planning something. I got hate mail and bricks through windows. Only then did I find out I was a month pregnant..." "...I moved into what was once our old house. There I brought you up. A few weeks ago I recieved a message that they knew where I was. That's why we moved..." said my Mum.
I was listening hard, not believing what I was hearing. "...It was going well till I found out they were onto me. Thats why I didn't go to the wedding because I was told it would be dangerous. They want the money. Well, he wants it. That little chap..."
I realised that my Mum meant Josh. I had been going out with the man who was trying to capture us! Eww! And he was probably like 30! Ewwww!! Dear Diary,
6th April 08. Ok I'll keep on going with what happened. We ran for what seemed like hours. We soon climbed a hill, not knowing where it went, or what was on the other side.
But when we got to the top we realised we couldn't go any further. I remember being as scared as a rabbit in headlights.
"What now?" I asked Mum. Before my Mum could answer, we heard voices behind us. The clouds cleared and we saw Josh and the man behind us.
"Well, well, well. Funny to see you here eh? Gonna tell me where my money is?"
"Not in your wildest dreams Joshy Boy!" replied my Mum. The next part is a bit fuzzy in my memory. Josh lunged but before he could grab my Mum, a satellite landed on her. My heart threw itself about. I remember myself wail like never before. And I jumped... This bit is the fuzzy bit. I can't remember falling exactly, but I can remember myself getting into a dive position to hit the water. I was never any good at swimming so I am as lucky as can be to have survived. I climbed out of the water soaking wet but unharmed, physically that is. Mentally I was distraught. I was on the run from criminals and my mother had just been killed.
After this I ran again. To the far most point I knew: my grandfather's field. If anyone reads this diary, don't ask me why! When I got there I saw the place where my mother had been digging. She hadn't filled it in very well! I dug a way in and soon a piece of paper got thrown up from my shovel I found. I grabbed it and studied it. $50. And there was more... I was rich beyond anything I'd ever imagined. I didn't know what to do next. Did I go to the police? Did I give it back to Josh? I spent a few minutes making a memorial plot for my mother with a stone and prayed for her. "You know what I'm going to do?" I said to myself.
"I'm going to start a gang of my own" The End.
I know that was really, really rubbish. But please forgive me because it's my first story! And I have no imagination to speak of. Please comment. Sorry for it being a bit too long but I was on a flow (kinda)! xxx
