Mental Love - 'Serena Whister'

Hellooo! Welcome back to the last chapter of Mental Love. Yes, this is the last chapter. I'm not doing Gloria's and Tyler's chapter because I lost their files (oops) and I'm too lazy to remake everything. Sorry about that. So, enjoy the last chapter and for more updates read my blog ^^.

I want to thank everyone for reading the story, for supporting me and for helping me. I want to thank every CC creator and for letting me use their stuff. Without them and without you this story wouldn't be the same as it is now :-D. So really: thank you all!

Enjoy reading! ;-)

Hey guys. It's me, Serena, again. It's been a rough journey and it's still not over yet. But let me tell you what brought me to this institution and made me the person who I am now. Ready? Here we go! We were just a normal family. My mom was a really caring and loving mom. She meant no harm and was really down to earth. Ofcourse, she was like every other mom, strict. There was just nothing odd about her. My father was the best doctor in town. There was no patient who couldn't be treated. He was patient, very clever and had a lot of knowledge of human nature. He was funny too, he could make every patient bursting out in laughter. But when he became sick there was no doctor who could cure him. He had cancer and there was no way he was going to survive it. My mom and I sat for months next to his bed, crying and praying. But it was all in vain. My dad died after a year fighting for his life. It wasn't a shock for me, I already prepared myself for his death. But still, it was a painful moment and I never had the chance to say goodbye to him. He died in his sleep. My mom became really lifeless. She sat for days in the chair, she didn't eat or speak. She only stood up to go to the bathroom or to drink. When I tried to talk to her she just murmured. She began to drink more and more and more, I just couldn't stop her. I didn't know what to do either. Weeks passed by and I just moved on. But suddenly the shock came that my father really died. Suddenly it dawned on me. I tried to carry on with my life, to cheer my mom up, but in reality I couldn't even cheer myself up. I was stuck. One day my mom wanted to talk to me. It was the first time in two months she actually opened her mouth to say something. We settled down on the couch, but she did not say anything. Eventually she whispered that she had enough of it. 'Enough of what?' I asked. I looked at her but she kept staring at the ground. She moved her lips up and down.

'Of this. My behavior. I'm not a good mom. Good moms aren't supposed to drink. Not like this. I signed myself into rehab, Serena.'

'But mom ..' I touched her hand curtly. 'That's a good thing, right?'
'Serena.. you can't live alone in this house. And your behavior isn't healthy too. Look at yourself, you don't even know what to do with your life anymore,' she gulped. 'I'm sending you to an institution, Serena.'

'W-wait, what? But mom..'
'No buts, Serena. I already called the institution. You are leaving tomorrow and that's it.' She grabbed my hand and held it tight. 'It's the best for the both of us, Serena. We will be better, our lives will be better from now on. I promise.' Well, that's it. That's why I'm stuck in this institution. Honestly, it isn't as bad as you all think it is. I met some really amazing people here and we all support each other. Either way, thanks for reading my story and I hope you enjoyed it! Bye!
