**Hello everyone and welcome to part 2 of "Love and heartbreak". I want to sincerely thank everyone who read and/or commented on part1 I appreciate all of the positive feeback and take all the critisism constructively to try and make my stories better. Ok so anyways, on with the story..
Its been a week since that day at the park when Vanessa and Seth met. Since then Vanessa was very preoccupied with work
Its been a week since that day at the park when Vanessa and Seth met. Since then Vanessa was very preoccupied with work Planning for three weddings at once was a tough challenge but Vanessa was determined to pull it off to bring her business to the next level. It was important for Vanessa to keep her staff in check. She ran a tight ship.
Vanessa -- "Caroline you made a mistake on the floral arrangements for the Ramawasi wedding.. They are having a hindu wedding.. so no roses. I need them all redone by this afternoon, no excuses." Caroline -- "Yes Ms. Russo."
Vanessa -- "Just don't let it happen again." Since Jazz was staying with her they both agreed that working at the shop could help put Jazz back on her feet independently, also it would give Vanessa a helping hand. Jazz was also the best hairstylist in Sunset Valley. Vanessa -- "Hey Jazz when you finish up with these clients can you give Caroline a hand with the centerpieces?"
Jazz -- "Yea no problem sis." With that situation taken care of, Vanessa focused her attention on finishing up the sketch of Cameron's lace corset inspired dress she had requested. Vanessa was happy with the design, she tried to include all the details Cameron said she wanted without making it look too tacky or overdone. She truly had an art for designing dresses. Later in the day she checked her e-mail to see that Cameron had e-mailed her 8 times that week with more requests and specifics about food, silverware, lightining etc, etc. Vanessa took a deep breath, she was quickly becoming a monster case of bridezilla. Later that night Seth came home to an angry fiance.
Cameron -- "Well you could of least called and said you would be late YET AGAIN.."
Seth -- "Cammy can we please not get into this right now i already have a migraine." Cameron -- "No one asks you to work so many hours Seth, in fact i dont know why you do it, my father is paying for the wedding."
Seth -- "Is that all you care about Cameron? What about all your credit card debt from your daily shopping sprees and trips to the spa? who do you suppose is going to support your little retail therapy sessions once we get married? ME therefore I am forced to work long hours!" Cameron was furious.. "Seth i cannot believe you right now, how dare you critize me when i have been working so hard to plan for our wedding! Lets not forget that if it wasn't for me you wouldn't be in that cozy little office of yours in the first place!" Seth couldnt contain himself anymore, "How dare you take credit for MY career, and MY hardwork. You think since you have a rich daddy that means you accomplished something in life? HAA! dont make me laugh! You know you can really be a spoiled brat sometimes! Never worked a day in your life yet you mock me for trying to support your lifestyle?!" Cameron -- "GET OUT! JUST LEAVE! I dont want to see or hear you right now!"
Seth -- "Well honey since this is MY cozy little apartment, Im not going nowhere.. and if you dont like it you can go crying to daddy."
Cameron didn't say another word and brushed past him upstairs. She slammed the door behind her. Seth was exhausted, and that fight with Cameron really wiped him out.. To angry to go upstairs and face her, he slept on the couch that night. Meanwhile back at Vanessa's house..
Jazz -- "Nessa im going out for a quick run i'll be back in 20."
Vanessa -- "Jasmine your pregnant.. I dont think you should be running sweety." Jazz -- "Relax, being pregnant is not a disease, i'll be fine. Besides its important that i keep in shape while i can. Its best for me and the baby."
Vanessa -- "Ok just be careful.. keep it light and dont over do it." Soon as she left the doorbell rang.. It was Caleb Matthews, a longtime friend of Vanessa's. Caleb and Vanessa knew each other since they were kids, they went to grade school together and parted ways after highschool, Vanessa to attend La Acamade LeTour school of Fashion, Caleb went on to attend SimState University where he majored in art.
Caleb put his arms around her in a friendly embrace. "Vanessa! Hows it going?" Vanessa --"Caleb Matthews, Wow it seems like forever, come in i'll make us some coffee and we can chat."
Caleb followed her inside. Caleb -- "Sorry for visiting so late, I tried to come by earlier and no one was home, I was going to wait till tomorrow and try again but i dont know how long I'll be in town."
Vanessa -- "Thats ok, i dont mind at all, Im just getting home actually. I own and manage my own bridal boutique." Caleb was impressed -- "Good for you! I always knew you would be a sucess.. You were always behind a sweing machine as kids."
Vanessa blushed a bit -- "Yea remember those days... You too though. Always the artistic one."
Caleb chuckled-- "Yea well im actually in town checking out a few museums to display my work. Afterall this is my hometown, my work is most known here in the valley."
Vanessa took a sip from her coffee. "Thats greet. I'll be there on your opening night, promise." Caleb -- "Well lets make it a date then. I can't show up to my own thing dateless."
Vanessa blushed some more.. she hoped he wouldn't try to lay on the charm. She could only see him as a friend and nothing more.
Vanessa -- "Ok, sure Caleb. But as friends ok?" Caleb smiled again -- "Of course Nessa. I almost forgot, hows your sister?"
Vanessa -- "Well shes married." Caleb's eyes widened "Yea who would of thought right? Acutually between me and you, her husband is a real jerk. I wish she would end it."
Caleb shook his head. "Poor girl. She tough though. I'm sure she'll be ok." Caleb -- "Well it's late i should get going. Im going to hold you to that date Vanessa."
Vanessa giggled. "Of course. Just let me know when and where it'll be. Goodnight"
Caleb looked as if he was going to say something, but he smiled and said "Goodnight Vanessa. I'll keep in touch." After Jazz got back from her run they stood up and chatted a bit. Jazz -- "You know i've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and you are right. Luke isn't going to change. I need to get out of this while i can, before the baby is born. What if he tries to take the baby away from me?"
Vanessa -- "Do you really think he would do something like that Jazz?" Jazz -- "When he's trashed i don't know what he is capable of."
Vanessa -- "You have got a point. First thing tomorrow we'll look up a good lawyer to take your case." Vanessa -- "You know Caleb came over while you out running."
Jazz -- "Shuttup! I miss Cal.. I always thought you too would end up together. You guys were so close, and he's an artist, your a fashion designer, you both have alot in common, and he's always had a thing of you!"
Vanessa -- "Yea well you thought wrong. He's my friend, i know he's attractive and funny and talented but i cant see past that. I don't feel any chemistry with him, and why ruin a perfectly good friendship over nothing." Jazz -- "Your never going to feel anything for anyone unless you let yourself fall Vanessa. Even if it ends it's still worth a shot, take it from me, yea luke was a total jerk but now im going to have a baby to love for the rest of my life. Your a wedding planner for sims sake! You can make everyone else happy except yourself?"
Vanessa -- "Whoa, you know it's way too late for this conversation. I love you and all and i see your point but rite now im going to bed. goodnight Jazz"
Jazz -- "fine, Goodnight. see you in the morning." Thinking about what Jazz had said hit home for Vanessa. She couldn't sleep, she let her mind wander. She started thinking about the other day, and the handsome man she had met at the park.. He had said he was there every week, "maybe if the weather is nice tomorrow i'll casually walk by and see if he's there" she thought to herself. Then remembering that he was a lawyer she felt as if a light bulb had turned on in her head. The next morning Seth and Cameron were still not speaking. Seth was in no mood to make amends after the rough night he had, and Cameron was giving him the cold shoulder. Later in the day, at work Seth started to feel badly about his fight with Cameron. He felt maybe he was too harsh in his words by speaking to her the way he did.. he was under so much stress that the words just seemed to spill out of him. He decided He would call her at home to apologize. He let the phone ring several times yet there was no answer and he hung up. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and in walked Vanessa Russo, the woman he had met at the park a few days earlier. Seth was glad yet surprised to see Vanessa in his office. He greeted her and offered her a seat. -- "Im pleasantly surprised to see you again Vanessa," he confessed, " So what brings you here? What can i do for you?"
Vanessa -- "Im sorry for just showing up like this, but i remember from our talk the other day that you mentioned you were a lawyer and im wondering if you would be willing to help me, it's about my sister."
Seth -- "Well Vanessa i'll tell you what, since its almost close to lunchtime and im booked with clients the rest of today, why don't we go and grab a bite to eat and you tell me all about it?"
Vanessa smiled -- "Sounds good."
