Hi, everyone! This is the last chapter of College Life, so I hope you like it!

Also, a bit of an update on the spin off series... It won't be happening the way I had planned it. For more details go read my blog, on here. (:

I hope that you still love Mia's journey through College. (:

Hi, everyone! This is the last chapter of College Life, so I hope you like it!

Also, a bit of an update on the spin off series... It won't be happening the way I had planned it. For more details go read my blog, on here. (:

I hope that you still love Mia's journey through College. (:
I stepped out of the taxi, excited to see my family for the first time in months. Leaving the farm was extremely hard to do, but I know I'm not leaving forever, so I forced myself not to cry. It was still a bittersweet goodbye, even if it was for only a few weeks. I walked up the stairs to the door, and I heard a dog barking.

Must be Lukas' Christmas present. I thought. He has always wanted a dog.
I opened the door, which was unlocked, and was greeted by my parents, who were waiting for me. "Mia, honey, we missed you so much!" My mother beamed. She hugged me, and I smiled. I missed her hugs, so much.

"I missed you guys, too!"
I walked over to give my dad a hug next. Despite our poor relationship after he cheated on my mother, I missed him too. It's not like I hate him. I used to, but not anymore. I've forgiven him. I hugged Lukas, last. "Come here, you!" I said, squuezing him. "Oh my God, you're so tall! You used to be shorter than me!" I said.

"It's called a growth spurt Mimi." I smiled at his nickname for me. He started calling me Mimi when he was a fiddler. It was actually his first word. I guess it just stuck.
"How's school? Got a girlfriend, yet?" I asked, prying. I could tell he didn't care from the loom on his face.

"It's great, and yes, actually, I do. Her name is Jane."

"The cowgirl?"

"That's the one," he smiled.

"She's cute!" I said. "Better treat her right."

"Of course I will. I know if I didn't you'd kill me. Then you'd ressurect me just to kill me again." We all laughed.
"Do you have a boyfriend? Are you and Timothy still together?" My mother asked. I stiffened up. I forgot that I hadn't told my family about Tim and me.

"No, actually. Tim and I are over."

"Why?" Luisa asked.

"Lukas, that's none of your business," my dad spoke up.
"No, it's fine. He cheated on me."

"That's it, he's a dead man," Lukas said.

I laughed at the sight of my little brother acting tough.

"Lukas, it's fine. I'm over it," I smiled. "It's in the past. I totally don't even care any more.
"I'm so sorry, honey. I know how it feels," my mom said, which made my far's face go pale. "But all that matters is that it's in the past. Maybe one day you two can be friends. Or even more, again."

"Thanks, Mom, but I'm pretty sure I'm never going to be with him, again." I said.
"Well, to get our mind off of such a tragedy," Lukas said, "we should go have a good old fashioned snowball fight."

I smiled at him. "I always knew you were the smart one. Great idea, little bro. But you should know, I'm going to smoke you., out there."

He started walking out of the door. "Bring it!"

I laughed and ran after him, my parents not far behind.
We ran around the house, throwing snowballs at each other. We eventually set up a team-boys versus girls. It's safe to say us girls won. Our snowball fight lasted a few hours, because when we went to make snow angels, it was already around 7pm. I sat in the snow, and stared up at the stars. I couldn't stop thinking about the farm. About Madison and Patrick. About when Pete tried to kiss me... About Cody..

I got up and started to build a snowman to take my mind off of everything-and every one.
Soon after I started to build a snow man, everyone else started to build their snow man, too. I think Lukas' dog wanted to build one, too. Or maybe she just wanted attention... I smoothed out the snow on the snowman, finishing up the final touches. I smiled at the final result. "Perfect," I said. My mom walked over after she finished hers.

"It sure is," she said. "What do you say we all go ice skating for a little bit at the park?"

"I'm up for it!" Lukas said. "Last one to the car is a rotten egg!"
After we got back from ice skating, it was around midnight and I was exhausted. Who knew skating around a rink could be so tiring? I mean, I guess if you spend more time on ice than actually skating on it, it could be... I went to bed with a smile on my face, even though something inside still felt empty. I pushed back the feeling and fell asleep, lost in my thoughts. I woke up the next morning happy, knowing that it's Christmas. I ran downstairs, excited to give my family the gifts I got for them.

Lukas and my father loved their gifts, but my mom got my dad a new football DVD, so he decided to turn that on before my mom and I exchanged gifts. We walked into the hallway to talk without interrupting the men.

"I got you a gift, and I really hope you like it," my mom said.
"What is it?" I asked.

"It's just a little something I got when I was on my trip."

"You got something for me on your trip?"

"I know I shouldn't have, since it was time for your father and I, but you know I can't do anything without having you and your brother in mind."
I took the gift from her, and smiled as I opened it. It was an Eiffel tower trinket, fitting since they went in France.

"I love it, thank you," I said smiling.

"You're welcome, honey."
"I got you something, too," I said.

"You don't have to, you know," she said.
"I know. But you know I'm going to every year," I laughed as I grabbed the gift I had hiding behind the stairs.

"I really hope you like it. It took me forever to find something that you'd like," I said.

"I like everything you get for me, sweet heart, you know that," she smiled. I knew this wasn't true, but it's nice of her to say it. She unwrapped the gift and held the blouse I got for her in her hands.

"Oh, honey. This looks expensive!"

"It was a bit overpriced.. But it's fine. I still have money left over to finish paying for college, so it's no big deal."

She pulled me in for a hug, and kissed my cheek. Yep, she definitely liked it.
She looked at me and turned her head. "Honey, what's wrong?"

"What?" I said, looking up at her. "Nothing's wrong."

"Don't play that with me. I'm your mother, I know when something's bothering you."
I sighed. "Mom, I really messed up. I think I ruined everything."

"Nothing is ever ruined. If he truly cares about you, he'll forgive you."

"How do you know it's about a boy?" I asked her, stunned.
"It's always about a boy," she giggled. "Go. We'll wait for you to get back before eating dinner."

"How do I know this is the right thing to do? I mean, what if I can't forgive him?"

"Honey, if he's all you're thinking about, then you've already forgiven him," she said softly. I smiled and ran into the living room.
"Lukas, can I borrow your car?"

"Depends. Are you going to meet a guy?"

"Yes, but it's not my ex, and he's totally sweet to me," I said, blushing.

"Well, in that case then.... Yes. Just don't crash it," he said, throwing me the keys from the end table.

"I'm not you," I said, running out of the living room, smiling.
I grabbed my coat from the rack and slipped on a pair of pants and boots and ran out of the house. I ran down the stairs, a big smile on my face. I couldn't stop thinking about what my mom said. Maybe I actually have forgiven him.. I hopped in the car and shut the door, as I put the car in drive. I hope I'm doing the right thing. I hope he hasn't given up on me.. When I arrived at the farm, I jumped out of the car and walked up the stairs to the door. I stopped myself. Calm down, Mia. Just take it slow. Don't act too excited. I stood up straight and walked up the stairs, slowly. As soon as I got in the house, I heard voices. It didn't sound like Cody, or Madison or Patricks voices. It sounded like... Tim? It was Tim. Turns out, I walked in on a very special moment... "Baylee Emma O'Reilly, I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, for as long as I live," he said. "Will you marry me?" Baylee jumped into his arms. "Of course, of course, of course!" She screamed.

As soon as she got down, Timothy looked over at me. Once Baylee saw why Timothy's face went sour, she looked over too.

"Mia...?" Baylee said.
"Mia," Tim said. "What are you doing here?"

I looked around. "Last time I checked you didn't own this house."

His face went red.
"Anyway, if you think I'm mad or upset about your engagement, I'm not. Congratulations."

They both looked at me in utter confusion. "What do you mean, Congratulations?"

"You two are engaged. That deserves a 'congratulation'."
"But I thought you hated us?" Baylee said.

"I don't hate you. I mean, I hated you. But not anymore. I'm over it."

"What do you mean you're over it?"

"I mean exactly what I said. I'm over it. I'm over you. Of course that doesn't change what you both did to me, but I realized that I was probably going to break up with you soon, anyway."

Tim's mouth flew open as he tried to say something. I stopped him. "I was going to break up with you, because I had-have-feelings for someone else."
"My brother?" Baylee asked.

I nodded.

"Do you happen to know where he is?" I asked.

"He's over by the lake," she said.

"Thanks," I said, walking away, headed for the lake.

"Mia?" Baylee said before I walked out of the door, "Good luck."

I walked out side and pushed my hands deep in my pockets.

This is it, Mia.

I walked through the trees, down to the lake. Cody was resting on a rock, looking out into the lake.

"You hang out here by yourself often?" I said.

He looked back at me, then back to the lake. "Yeah. It's quiet. I can be alone with my thoughts. What are you doing here, anyway?"
"I work here, remember," I replied.

"Not on Christmas."

"Okay. You got me. I came here to see you."

He looked at me, then got up from the rock he was laying on. He walked up to me.

"Look, Cody. I need to tell you something," I said.

"What is it?" he asked.

"I was mad at you for not telling me about Tim and Baylee. I disliked you very much for that," I said.

"I know. You told me," he replied, looking at his shoes. "So did you come here to say it again, just to make me feel worse?"
"No!" I said quickly. "I came here to apologize."

He looked up at me, a puzzled look on his face. "Apologize? For what?"

"For everything."
"I realize now, that it was a stupid reason for me to be mad at you. You were trying to protect me. I think, if it went on any longer, you would have finally told me, anyway, right?"

He nodded.
"So thank you. For caring enough about me not to hurt me. Even though it did hurt me in the end..." I said, going off topic. I shook my head.

"Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm sorry, and I forgive you."
"But that's not all I'm trying to say," I said, twisting my fingers around in my hands. I inhaled deep. "Cody, you were right. The other day at the table when you said that I'm scared because I care about you? You were right. I'm scared. I needed a reason to stay mad at you. The truth is, I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to believe that I was falling for you. That I fell for you. Not wanting to believe that didn't work. It only made things worse. All I did was think about you. You didn't something to me that no other guy has done. You.." "You made me love you," I said, feeling like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

He just looked at me and didn't say anything. I slumped my shoulders and looked at the ground.

I knew it'd be too late.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you to say that," he said. Yay! So I hoped you liked it! I added the last two pictures because I loved the scene and thought it was cute. :P

Anyway, I hope you liked the journey of Mia through College, because I know I did. If you want to read a summary of what I had planned but can't do, I can put it in a blog for you. Don't forget to read my blog for more details!

Mia looks so much like her mother. And @ Mia and Cody: yay! The Christmas miracle! And I can imagine how hard it was for her to tell him that.
