Dear Rosea . . you do sound confused! Unfortunately, so am I. $\:confused\:$ Could you send me an eMail with a picture of the image[s] you are using to make your pattern, and a screenshot from the game to show how it appears there. You can't take a screenshot of the console with the game camera, you need to use something like FRAPS . . but there are other methods, I'm sure, that do the same job. By the way, patterns in the game have no names visible, so unless you know what the little thumbnail will look like, it's pretty much seek and find to get the right one! I know this isn't your problem, it's just something I forgot to tell you earlier. If you had 3 layers in your CAP workspace, then you should have 3 separately recolourable options in the game. Of course, your images must have transparent areas for the other colours/details to show through! The background colour [the bottom layer in CAP] is NOT recolourable in game. The very top [specular] layer is a special deal that you should ignore for the time being. . . it is the place to add shine . .[but it's more complicated than that]. So, if you are able to split your image into 3 separate colour blocks, you place them with the most visible colour at the top of your palette, [one layer down from the top in the workspace], then in descending order . . with the image that is your background [whether it be plain or an image] on the very bottom layer, remembering that this layer will NOT be recolourable. If you send me the details I requested, I'll see what I can do to straighten out the mystery . . because I've always found CAP to reproduce my pattern EXACTLY in the game. . . this is why I still use it occasionally, when the Workshop won't give me the result I need. . . .i.e. the pattern has too many colour variations. Rosa . .I haven't forgotten your pattern request, but just haven't had enough time to do a proper tute, so haven't done anything yet. I notice that Trudi has given you a run-through for TSRW . . and her tute is a very clear picture of that process. If you follow it, you should have very useable patterns without too much stress! I often make my own initial png's before I import them into the Workshop - and this too is fairly simple. By now, you will have noticed, that it is not easy to get the pattern in TSRW to completely copy the image you imported . . especially if that image was complex - say an intense floral? To get an exact copy of such a pattern, you need to use the Create a Pattern Tool from EA. The process is basically the same as for TSRW You import your 256x256 image [which MUST be tileable 4 ways - i.e. on very side] as a Sticker. - except that for very intense patterns, you will only have 1 recolour - i.e. the whole pattern will change, not just individual layers. Do not be put off by this, as the variations that can be obtained, with just that one recolour, can be very pleasing. For simpler patterns, where you can separate some of the components into individual layers before importing them, you can have more than 1 recolourable palette. If you are importing such layers, you start at the bottom of the "pile" and work up . . just remember, the order of the layers is very important - any layer over the one[s] below, will appear first. You can test your pattern in CAP, so you know if there needs to be any changes . . then you can save it off and install in your game. If you are interested in the CAP tutorial as well, let me know. Sorry I totaly forget. First you must seartch the internet for seamless pattern images. Copy one you like and change the size to 256x256 pix. Save as png Opem TSR workshop on top next to edit is tools click and you will find the pattern tool. Click to open. On top RDB mask image click on it and open the image you resize to 256. You wil see there is 4 colours. Tik 1.2.3 not alfa. Now your pattern have 3 coulors you can change the why you like it. There is a 4th color that is permenent on top of the image you wil see background fill. That color you put in there you can not change in game. Most of the time its black. Bottum of the image is DST compression. click to mark it. Name your pattern and make it cloth and abstract or fabric or exe. Bottum export and give it the name you put on your pattern and walla you can put in game and see how it look. This is just the eazy way to do it. If you want to make your own pattern I cant help I did not do that yet. Or change the mask, you must do it in photo shop. Hope this help. You can ask if I miss something dear. Try to start just wit eazy pattern not to mutch flowers
