Euro Payment Changes

The Sims Resource is based in Sweden, Europe. Up until now our prices have been based on dollars due to our predominant US market. After a recent review of the way we work, we need to make a change to the way that we price our subscriptions and manage our business. For European visitors this will make little or no difference, but for US, Canadian and other visitors with currencies outside the Euro, you will be affected.

As of today our price plans are now in Euros and payment will be taken at the fixed Euro rate advertised. We will continue to show the price in US$ on the signup page for your convenience but this will be based on real-time exchange rates. Subscribers in currencies outside of the Euro will not be charged VAT which in Sweden is currently 25%. This amount will be deducted from the posted Euro price if paying in your own currency.

Existing subscriptions (which are an agreement between subscribers and PayPal) will not be affected, they will continue at the rate they signed up to.

It is very unfair to blame this on the situation of the dollars recession. Although it is in fact true, that was not the reason stated above for the reason of the price increase. I, for one, am greatly disappointed in TSR for this price change, but I will not create a fight over it. All I can say is that the subscriber amount will certainly plummet, which will actually hurt business.

\:\( Well I won't be able to renew at those prices either. I am on a disability pension. Every penny I have is carefully budgeted. Luckily for me I did buy a year's membership, but when my year is up, so will my being able to subscribe. I've read all the previous posts, and I am very disappointed to find that some members have had posts deleted. It's disheartening to find that as customers, some are treated that way, they have a right to express opinions, and deleting their comments is disrespectful. A lot of us are in the same boat, the price hike is simply more than we can afford, for me each game expansion costs $60.00, and every expansion costs $30.00. Then the game guide varies between $25.00 to $30.00.
Since this is the only computer game I play, or even own for that matter, it is sad that I find that I won't be able to renew my subscription.

I deleted 2 of my own comments before they were even posted for 30 seconds, because I decided not to say what was really on my mind about this, but there are many subscribers who are echoing some of what I feel. The US subscribers feel a bit slapped in the face, and "gouged" as we say in the US, and there are laws against price-gouging here. A lot can change in a year, though, and I hope for the best for TSR, and I hope I will still feel like it is worth it to me to re-subscribe when it comes time, if the price is still that high. So good luck to you in all your business dealings, anyway; and we'll see what happens.

In a very near future we are launching something I'm sure you as a previous subscriber will appreciate. Stay tuned.

If I'm not mistaken, in the past 12 months there has been a subscription increase, an increase in the amount of kudos to get a subscription day, and now this increase. On top of that, one won't know for sure what the exact rate is until the moment of purchase? I see a lot of responders saying they won't be able to resubscribe. Whether I am able to or not, I will not.

Personally, I am glad the subs have been raised. As a non subscriber, I am now saving 17% more than before.

Way to go TSR.\:D

Well, as a US customer, it seems everything has already been said, but I will add my own voice to the chorus anyway. $60 for a site subscription is definitely not something I can afford. The previous subscription price was very difficult for me, and I let the subscription lapse for nearly a year before renewing this last time. I'm glad that I still have a while left on my current subscription becuase this will be it for me. I love this site and the content and FA's, but my paycheck is not keeping pace with inflation right now. Disposable income is in short supply. \:\(

I am a 'free' member now but have subscribed in the past and had planned to again in the future. I'm disheartened by the increase and especially so as a Canadian. Currently our dollar is hovering just below the US dollar so the prices are even MORE expensive for us. I do love TSR and the fact that there is still free content offered but this price increase does have me doubting whether I will subscribe again.
This Sims hobby sure is getting expensive isn't it? \:P

well Kids. I,am 72 and I remember the last"
'DEPRESSION WE HAD".And it ain't going to happen again.
And you
do have A option to get stuff some where else. There is a company on the East Cost named, File Planet. And they do have A lot of stuff that has been made for all kinds of games. Check it out, you may never need TSR. Again.\:mad\: \:ph34r\: \:wacko\: \:rah\:

Well, could you tell me if there is a difference for the people living in the Canary Islands? We have the Euro but we are a special free-tax zone. We don't have VAT. Here we have IGIC. That would be a special canary tax which is only 5%. Could somebody answer me to that?\
