Yay! I've got this story going again :) I have had to recreate all the characters and scenes again but I tried as hard as I could to make everything look exactly the same as it was. So if something seems a little different, that's why, but hopefully you won't notice too much difference.
Hopefully those of you who have enjoyed the first parts will continue with this story....I hope I haven't made you wait too long! Unfortunately, computers are very temperamental :( I really appreciate all your support and feedback.
And for those of you who are new to this story, I hope you enjoy reading the previous parts along with this new installment.

Before Nick knew it, he had awakened to a clear Sunday morning and started to prepare for the arrival of his guests at noon. The past week had flown by in a blur of mixed emotions and thoughts. These, of course, included Zak.
He had been waiting a long time for these feelings to confirm what he already knew. For many years he had sunk deeper and deeper into denial about his sexuality. As a teenager, he just wanted to fit in with his mates, and that continued through his twenties. Over the last few years though, he had begun to accept his true feelings and felt much better for it.
By the time 12 o'clock was upon him, Nick was ready for the arrival of his family and had a growing appetite. He was about to start cooking the sausages on his new barbecue when he heard a loud knock on the front door. Right on time, he thought.
Opening the door, he was happy to find his parents, Miranda, her husband Mitch, and little Jess on the other side.

"Hi all!" Nick smiled. "Come on in."
Adriana arrived fifteen minutes later, joining everyone out the back where the barbecue was sizzling away. All heads turned as Nick's twin sister appeared by his side.

"Well, here she is," Nick announced. "I'd like you all to meet Adriana. My twin sister."

Adriana smiled wide as she sensed Nick's pride in introducing her to his family. Already she felt she belonged.
Nick's parents were the first to approach, welcoming Adriana into the family.

"Oh, how nice it is to meet you properly," Nick's mother said, enveloping her in a warm hug. "I'm so glad you and Nick have found each other. Call me Iris."

"Thank you, Iris," Adriana replied. "You don't know how much this means to me."

"And I'm John." Nick's father shook her hand. "We feel very blessed to have you in our family."

"Nice to meet you both. I feel equally as blessed to be included in your family. Thank you so much."
It was then time to introduce her to Miranda and her little family.

"This is my sister, Miranda, and her husband, Mitch, and their daughter, Jessica. She's two."

"Oh, she's beautiful. She looks just like her mum," Adriana observed, giving them a smile. "It's wonderful to meet you all, it really is."

"The pleasure is all ours," Miranda smiled, welcoming her with a hug.
After all the introductions, they all took a seat at the table while Nick finished cooking the sausages and placed a delicious, steaming hotdog in front of everyone. These were devoured happily over a chat as Nick's family got to know Adriana. It didn't take them long to feel comfortable around each other and were all soon laughing like old friends. After their lunch had digested, Nick eyed off the pool. The clear, cool water looked very tantalizing.

"Who's up for a swim?" Nick asked.

A cry of agreement followed and the pool was soon rippling with movement.
Late in the afternoon Jess had fallen asleep in her father's arms, resulting in their departure along with Miranda. Nick's parents followed suit soon after leaving just himself and Adriana. She had insisted on helping him clean up but as they were clearing the last of it, they were both surprised to hear a knock at the door. "Jonas!" Nick hadn't been expecting his friend. "How are you going?"

"Great, man," Jonas replied. "Sorry about arriving unannounced but I was in the area and thought I'd drop by."

Adriana appeared by her brother's side. "Oh, that's ok. You haven't had the chance to meet my sister, have you?"

Jonas took in the image of the beautiful woman smiling at him. "You're sister?"

"Yea, twin sister. Come on in, it's a long story," Nick laughed.
Laying in bed that night, Nick recollected the chemistry he had felt between Adriana and Jonas earlier that afternoon. He hadn't mentioned it to either of them but he knew he hadn't been imagining it.
He had watched as Jonas tried unsuccessfully to peel his eyes from Adriana, and as she flirted unknowingly with the handsome man she had just met. Nick, of course, was happy to play matchmaker, though it would be an easy job in these circumstances.
"So, how's your new position going?" Adriana asked between mouthfuls of food. "Are you enjoying it?"

Nick had joined Adriana and Zak at Monchello's again the following week, enjoying a scrumptious meal of salmon.

"I am, actually. It keeps me on my toes but that's the way I like it," Nick replied. He couldn't help stealing a glance at Zak.
"That's great. It's always good to keep busy," Adriana agreed.

"What do you do for work, Zak?" Nick asked.

Zak looked up, meeting Nick's gaze. "I'm an Architect."

"A brilliant one at that," Adriana added.

"Wow, that would be a great career," Nick said.
Zak smiled. "Yea, I enjoy it. And it pays the bills. Candice is always needing money for something or other."

"It must be hard being a single parent to a teenager," Nick empathized. "Not that I'd know what it's like to be a parent."

"It's much easier when both parents are co-operative," Zak explained. "Ava's fantastic and she and her husband, Chad, have Candice most of the time. I have her every third week."
"Actually, you'll get to meet her next week," Adriana said. "She's coming with Zak when we meet up here next week. She's a sweetie."

"Oh, great," Nick replied, as nerves started to creep up on him. He was going to meet Zak's daughter. "I look forward to it!"

The three of them continued to chat for another hour before they decided to pay their bill and leave. Nick gave his sister a hug on the way out and shook Zak's hand. Was that a glimmer of interest he saw in Zak's eyes, or was it just Nick's hopeful imagination?

Half way through the next week, Nick found himself seated next to Jonas on his couch. Adriana was the topic of their conversation.

"I really won't mind if you ask her out," Nick persisted. "I think it's fantastic, actually. I saw the chemistry between you two straight away."

"It's just, you know, she's your sister and you have only got to know each other recently," Jonas explained, giving Nick an appreciative smile. "I don't want to get between you two but she's really incredible. I'd love to see more of her, thanks Nick. You think she'll want to as well?"
"Are you kidding?" Nick chuckled. "I've never seen someone flirt so much, she seemed very comfortable around you."

Jonas gave a sly smile. "That's great, really great. Would she mind if you gave me her number?"

With a laugh, Nick read out Adriana's mobile number as Jonas entered it into his own mobile. If only it was this easy with Zak, Nick thought.
On Saturday night, Nick took a long, hot shower. He let the water wash over him, the warmth of the droplets relaxing him immediately. As the steam swallowed him up, he closed his eyes. He was so confused, not like he used to be, but now because of the situation with Zak. He had no idea what to do. Meanwhile, over at Adriana's, she had other things on her mind. She was warm in her pajamas and slippers, in front of the TV, watching a romantic movie. Not that she was actually watching it, though. Lately, she had spent most of her time thinking about someone. A very handsome someone. She slid off the couch to go make herself a coffee, still thinking about Jonas. She created an image of him in her mind. His dark, exotic skin shimmering under the imaginary sun, his piercing blue eyes pinning her to the spot she was standing, his muscular arms reaching out to embrace her... She let out a laugh, scolding herself for letting her imagination run away with her. He probably hasn't even thought twice about me, she thought, a guy like him would have girls all over him. Adriana was suddenly distracted, feeling a need to look behind her. This sense of being watched was something she'd been experiencing for the last few nights and it was unnerving her. She didn't know what it could be, maybe just an overactive imagination. Still, it made her feel very alone and vulnerable. Trying to relax, she once again got comfortable on the couch and glued her eyes to the screen. I'm just being silly, she thought to herself. Attempting to clear her mind, Adriana began losing herself in the storyline of the movie. She hadn't realised before what a good movie it was. It would be even better if she could just shake that feeling of being watched....
