I'm back! And I bring both good and bad news...

Bad news first, I've decided to drop all my other stories. I guess you could say I've experienced writer's block, and that's why I've decided to move on and write something new.

The good news is that I've started a new series! I can't tell you exactly where it's going, but I'm just writing as I go, so hopefully it turns out well!

The series is titled C'est La Vie, as you all can see, which means "That's Life" in French. This is an introduction, I'd say, because it lets you get a glimpse of their everyday life. You'll get to know the characters. So enjoy!

As Meaghan made her way up the stairs of the cold, brick-walled, wood-floored apartment, she looked out and saw the same, unsurprising thing she always did.

Margaret sat on the white couch and began to read "Exploits of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle" ( this must have been her tenth time reading it), and Seth grabbed his second bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats, which happened to be his absolute favorite cereal.

"Hey guys," Meaghan said as she walked towards the kitchen.
"Ugh! That stupid trainee still hasn't come to pick me up. I don't have all day you know."

Aside from her normally bubbly and charismatic personality, Margaret also had her "bad" side. She was not what most would call patient, nor was she thought of as humble or selfless. But she was definitely a character, and you didn't meet women like her everyday.
And it was this distinctive personality that got Margaret where she was today.

Blessed with the luxuries of a very wealthy family, and her stunning features and good looks, Margaret easily climbed the ladder to her success. She dreamed of being a world famous actress and model, and she was slowly making her way there. She'd already been in numerous bathing suit catalogs, and played many minor roles in self made movies. She'd also starred in commercials, been placed on billboards, and she even made appearances on today's most-viewed television shows. Margaret's dream was not far from reach.
Luckily, "that stupid trainee" arrived in a black, stretch hummer limo (just as Margaret had requested), and the aspiring actress was on her way to her latest audition.

Meanwhile, Seth and Meghan caught up.

"That was a fast art convention," Seth said.

"Yeah, well it was only across the street," replied Meaghan.

If there's something you should know about these two lovers, it's that both have an affinity for painting. And that affinity was what brought them together. Actually, it was at a recent art convention that they met, and since then their relationship has skyrocketed.
Frank, another roommate, had just entered the room and was already eager to leave.

"You know, if you guys are gonna be all 'lovey-dovey' you should really get a room. Gosh, what does a guy have to do to use the computer around here?!"

And with that, Frank returned to his room to finish the last episode of the soap opera "Simsters: Young and Reckless".
Seth and Meaghan were not your typical couple. They didn't spend years and years getting to know each other; in fact, they've only known each other for a few months.

As stated before, they met at an art convention out in Riverview. Seth came from the flashing city of Bridgeport, while Meaghan grew up in the small suburb known as Sunset Valley. Upon returning home after the convention, Seth realized his love for Meaghan and dropped everything. He moved into the dorm with the three other roommates, and aside from Margaret's dramatic meltdowns and Frank's slobbish ways, they all got along pretty well, and life in the dorm was a happy one.
The most surprising thing about Meaghan and Seth's relationship was the fact that they were already engaged. They met one sunny afternoon in the month of July, and he proposed only two months later at the end of September. It came as a huge surprise to Meaghan when Seth popped "the question", but she didn't hesitate to scream yes. Everything was moving quickly, and it came with a down side.

The lovers were the center of gossip in the small city. And it's size was what made word spread so quickly. But, ask them, and any other couple that insists they're in love, and they'd say they didn't care what any one else said as long as they had each other by their side.
People would often ask them what they found so appealing about the other, and both would reply differently...

Meaghan: "I love how he looks at me. It's not lustful, but loving, caring and kind. It's everything I could ever ask for. I mean, how many women have a man that looks at you instead of watching the last touchdown of the super bowl?"

Seth: "I love everything about her. It's like, when we met, we just clicked. Sort of like love at first sight! I can't explain it. We have some sort of attraction, and all I know is that I want to spend the rest of my life with her."
As the famous quote goes, "Time flies when your having fun".

So by the time the couple had spent the evening together, it was already well past 8 o'clock.

Seth began to cook his famous Mac & Cheese dinner, Margaret told Meaghan all about her audition and the cute director as well, and Frank took a seat on the couch and continued his study on the skill of gardening.

Slowly but surely, their restful weekend was coming to an end.
Seth had finished making dinner, and each of the roommates sat down.

"So Frank, can you tell me anything about that bank robbery I've been reading about in the newspaper?" asked Seth.

Frank, being the chief over at the city's local station, paused and thought for a minute.

"You know I'm not able to release any information about that case, Seth.." Frank's voice trailed off.
"I know, I'm just messin' with you. But it would be nice to know who exactly is behind that whole thing. Us townspeople don't really get any information in the daily paper, or on the news," replied Seth.

"Well hopefully we'll catch the crook and you'll get all the information you want."

Recently in the city of Sunset Valley there had been these sudden streaks of crime. This included vandalism, stolen items and robberies, and it wasn't done by the usual pranksters that flooded the school or egged their neighbors. No, the S. V. P. D. (Sunset Valley Police Department) believed this was planned and carried out by someone far more intelligent than the average teenager.

The people of Sunset Valley stopped breathing so easily, single moms stopped the late night stroller rides, and surprisingly, rebellious teenagers stopped sneaking out after curfew. Sunset Valley was beginning to lose its reputation for a crime free and safe environment, and people were not too happy about it. It was people like Frank and Meaghan, who both happened to work on the force, that felt the effects of this change. Both started working longer hours, and it began to show.
With dinner now digesting in their tummies, everyone decided it was time to get to bed, except Meaghan of course, because Sunday was her turn to do the dishes.

"Well, I'm off to sleep. I'll see you guys in the morning, goodnight," said Frank, who was already yawning.

With a look of disgust towards Frank, who had the yellow cheese sauce all over his face and shirt, Margaret said goodnight to the crew and headed to bed herself.

Seth helped Meaghan load the dishwasher, then finished the big football game upstairs.
After she had rubbed all the soap off her hands, Meaghan went up the stone stairs to see Seth waiting for her as he usually did.

She smiled, and thought twice about going to finish the game but said, "Well, we should get to bed. It's getting late."

Nodding in agreement, Seth turned off the lights and the house called it a night.
As each person got into bed, they shoved their worries aside and let their tiredness get the best of them. They all needed the rest for the long day of work ahead, and we all know Monday's are the hardest.

And the rest would also be significantly needed for the great surprises the next day had in store for them.
