I race up the path and try to catch a glimpse of the license plate, but it's growing dark and the car is beyond the top of the hill. I thought I had recognized Sue, but why would she be following me? Night has fallen by the time I get back to my office. Fortunately the Police Department never closes, so I place the call to my source and ask if he's uncovered anything new. He's got some information but he doesn't want to tell me over the phone and asks to meet me at Margo's, the diner at the end of the wharf. Margo's has the best eggs in town, which is why the place is always busy. A great spot to have a meeting.

My source, Angelo, is sitting in a booth near the back, flipping through a folder that looks a lot like the one that went missing from my desk.
He slides the folder across the table as I sit down and says, "First of all, her real name isn't Susan Cyclonus."

"I figured," I nod, opening the folder to see several black and white photos and a brief memo.

"She changed her name three years ago," Angelo continues. "There's no record as to why, maybe she's skipping out on a bad marriage or something. She doesn't have any kind of criminal record under either name, though."
The waitress swings by and asks if we're ready. Angelo orders the special and my stomach rumbles. I realize I haven't eaten since breakfast. "Make it two," I say, and the waitress nods and heads back to the kitchen. I pick up one of the photos showing the woman I know as Sue from a few years ago. In the picture, her hair is shorter, but it is definitely the same woman. On the back of the image is the name 'Richelle Numbers'. What kind of last name is that? Numbers? "Is it possible that this isn't her real name either?" I ask. "I mean, Numbers seems like an unusual last name."

"I can't say for sure," Angelo replies, "but there was a family by that name from Veronaville. Could be she's from there, or related. I agree it's unique but this is the only other reference I found for her."

I still don't know her, under either name but this is more than I had before. At the very least I know she's hiding her true identity. That might make it easier to find out why. The waitress returns with our meals and I put the folder aside while we eat.
Angelo finishes before I do and stands, "Thanks for the meal, man. I've got to get back to work."

"No problem," I reply. "Thanks for the information." I love how he just assumes I'm buying, but it was worth it.
I don't like having my back to the door, so I slip into Angelo's spot once he's gone and open the folder again. There are four pictures of Sue - in the first, she appears to be about fourteen years old. She's got a know-it-all smirk on her face.

In the second, she's standing next to another girl. Even though they appear to be wearing swimsuits and it must be a nice day, she looks bored.
In the third, she's slightly older, maybe sixteen, and she's standing next to the same girl. They must be sisters, judging by the similarities in their appearance, but this other girl looks more mature, maybe eighteen. In the last photo, Sue is standing next to an older couple, possibly her parents. Even though they appear to be on vacation in Starlight Shores, she doesn't seem to be happy about it. No one in the picture is smiling. In fact, Sue doesn't smile in any of these images. Maybe she changed her name to escape her family. The idea of family reminds me of what Darla said earlier - that she discusses her issues with Roy. I shake my head, why didn't I think of this before? If anyone can tell me more about Sue, it's my sister Lulu. After all, Lulu is directing this latest film starring Steve and Sue. Drinking all that nectar must have killed more brain cells than I thought. I drop some simoleons onto the table to cover the bill, grab the folder and step outside. Walking back to my car, I hit the speed dial on my cell phone and Lulu's husband answers.

"Have you been arrested again?" he asks. Must have recognized my number on the caller ID.

"You're a funny man, Frank," I reply. "Don't quit your day job."

"Who'd bail you out if I quit?" he says, laughing.

"Good point. Is Lulu around?"

"She's in bed, and I hate to wake her, she's got to be on set by 4 AM. Something to do with the morning light and it not being so hot... I don't know, I usually just nod and smile when she tells me these things. Is it important?"

"No," I answer. "It can wait, don't wake her. I'll catch up with her tomorrow. Thanks, Frank."
I close the phone, start the car and point it towards home. Hopefully I'll get some answers tomorrow...
