Part two of chapter one. It's basically the second half of the Introduction. Why, you might be asking? Well, you'll find out later in the story.

This chapter, you also get to see what Mia and Cody's (College Life) roles are in the story.. If you didn't know already. ;)

Enjoy!!

"And so he went up and punched him right in the face!" Kendall exclaimed, stuffing his mouth with spaghetti.

"Wow, that is surprising," my mother said.

"Yep. He got suspended, but it was totally worth it," he mumbled, his mouth full.
"You're a freak," I said to him.

"Shut up, at least I'm not stupid!"

"Kendall and Cassandra, stop it right now," my mom said calmly. I rolled my eyes.

"Since this dweeb just bored me to death, I think I'm ready to go to sleep," I said, getting up from my chair.
"Okay, honey. I'll see you in the morning," my mom smiled.

"You too." I smiled back.

Operation Sneak Out to See Thomas in progress.
"I just think I'm doing a terrible job," Mia said, looking at her self in the mirror, while fixing her hair.

"You're not doing a terrible job, honey. You're doing a wonderful job. You were made to be a mother," Cody replied, fluffing up his pillows.
"You think so?" She asked. He nodded. "I don't think so. I mean, she hates me!"

"She's a teenager, babe. Teenagers hate everyone."

"Maybe you're right," she agreed.
"Now come to bed. Your hair looks fine."

"Okay." Mia walked over to the other side of the bed, and smoothened out the blanket.
"I think I might tell her that she can go ahead and see him," Mia said, after a few seconds of silence.

"Are you sure about that?"
"I've been thinking about it a lot. She's seventeen, she's going to do whatever she wants to do, anyway. I guess I'm going to have to realize that she's not my little girl anymore." "She's still your little girl. She's just growing up."

"What do you think about this boy she's seeing?" Mia asked her husband.
He inhaled deep, and exhaled slowly. "I don't like him. He's trouble, obviously. I saw him at the Drug Store buying alcohol the other day. The cashier just let him buy it, too. No ID or anything."

"Well, that's what happens when your mom is Paisley Gilbert, mega movie star," Mia sighed.

"I don't know. I guess it doesn't matter what I think of him. It only matters what Cas thinks."

Mia nodded. I really don't want her hanging around him. But what can I do to stop it? Nothing. She said to herself.
"I guess I'm going to have to let our little bird fly the coop," Mia said. Cody bursted out laughing.

"Our 'little bird fly the coop?' Mia, where do you get this stuff?" Cody laughed harder, holding his stomach.

"Hey! Good authors think of ideas all by themselves," she bragged.

"You got it from a movie, didn't you?"

"Yeah."

They both laughed. If only I could be this close to Cassandra.
"Anyway, I'm going to tell her tomorrow that it'll be okay from now on."

"Good, honey. I'm proud of you," he smiled.

"Yeah, yeah. Doesn't mean I'm happy about it. It's just something I have to do."
"Well, either way, I'll always love you."

"I love you, too."

Mia kissed Cody's head before crawling under the covers and falling asleep with his arms around her.
I checked myself out in the mirror, smiling at the image.

"Oh, he is going to love this."

I already text him the moment I came upstairs just to tell him that I'm going to have to go with plan B. He never text back, which probably meant he was already having loads of fun without me. Or he was wasted. Probably the latter. I smiled one more time, making sure all of the details were perfect. I combed my hair back with my fingers, so that it would be the perfect amount of messy. "You got this in the bag," I said to the girl in the mirror, blowing her a kiss.

I stopped playing in the mirror, and got down to business.

Step 1 of Successfully Sneaking Out Late: Make sure your parents are asleep. This may be hard, if your parents don't snore. Mine do. So it's always the easiest step.
Step 2 of Successfully Sneaking Out Late: Find a way out. The door usually won't do. It's too noisy. So, that's why whoever built windows, built windows. For teens to sneak out of. Step 3 of Successfully Sneaking Out Late: Find something to climb out with. Whether it be a rope, a sheet, a ladder or even your hair, you won't land without hurting yourself if you don't have something to help you. I prefer the good old ladder. I have one that doesn't make much noise, and that I can sneak back in the backyard quietly without my parents even noticing that it was moved. And, the last step of Successfully Sneaking Out Late: Walk to your destination. Or walk around the corner from your house and call a taxi. Either one will keep you from getting in trouble with the 'rents, which will then make your sneaking out 100% successful. I walked up to the house, almost forgetting just how big it was.

I wonder if anyone ever gets lost in here. I asked myself.

I heard loud music bumping outside. Throwback Kellie McLaughlin. Just like Tommy.
I walked up to the door and reached for the knob. I was hoping not many people were there. I would like to have some alone time with Thomas.

I walked in the house, and what I hoped, unfortunately didn't come true. There were tons of people. I didn't see Tommy, though. I walked up to a girl who was making out with a guy. Probably not even her boyfriend.

"Have you seen Tommy?" I asked her, backing up once she came up for air. She looked peeved. Like I just ruined her day.

Oops, my bad.

"He's upstairs. Probably making out with his girlfriend," she laughed, going back to kissing the random.

"I'm his girlfriend, idiot." I said, walking upstairs. If anyone was annoyed, it was me. Does he even know half of these people?

Probably not.
I made my way upstairs, covering my nose from the foul smell.

Seriously? You get invited into someone's house, and you trash it, literally? How rude.
I looked over and saw Sara and Anja, and Anja's boyfriend Elijah. Or was it Sara's boyfriend...

"Hey Sara!" I said. She looked over at me. Oh, it is Sara's boyfriend.
"Hey, Cas! Glad you could make it!" She made a face. "Why does it smell so bad up here?"

Elijah kissed her cheek. "We can ignore it," he laughed. Anja walked over to the other side of the hallway to flirt with (a few) guys.
"What..? What the hell is going on here? Tommy?" I yelled. He only looked over once. No remorse in his eyes. Maybe sadness, but no remorse.

"So, what? You're not even going to explain to me why you're hugging up on some girl half-naked?" I asked, tears filling my eyes.

He didn't say anything. He just looked the other way.

"Screw you, Tommy," I said, stomping out of his room."
I guess mom was right... I ran out of the house and past the girl kissing the random. She looked up at me for a second, with an I-told-you-so look on her face, but I ignored her. Whatever. I don't need him, anyway. He was just a stupid boy. Any guy at school would love to be with me. No matter how much I told myself I was okay with what he did, I wasn't. I mean, why couldn't he look me in the eyes? Why couldn't he answer me? Why did he act like there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he was doing?

All of these questions, and not one answer.
I ran and ran and ran until I made it to the park. I stopped and took a break. I heard something in the bushes, which made me jump.

"He..Hello?" I said, my voice trembling. "Is somebody there?"

No answer. Great. I guess no one wants to talk to me tonight.
I was about to walk back home, when I saw something jump out at me. I screamed. It was him. It was The Beast. I thought about running away. Running as fast as I could. But he would only follow me. He'd follow me and kill me. Or attack me. Either way, I just stood there, in the same position. He growled at me. ..Then he turned away.

I didn't have time to wonder why he turned away, I just ran home as fast as I could. Once I knew he was gone, and I made it back in front of my house, I let myself wonder. I let myself wonder why he didn't attack me. Why he didn't kill me.

Why he let me go.
