Hi everyone!
I haven't had much of a life...(sad but true) :D So, here's the next one. Enjoy! And what's up with everyone wanting James to be dead? You guys are funny.

XOXO Alessa
My shrill scream, my fall to the floor, bring Aiden running to me, with Meena sobbing right behind him. With tears streaming down my face, Aiden pulls me into him, frantically asking what's wrong. "The shadow man was with mommy," Meena sobs, and I cry out, clutching Aiden more tightly.
"What?! What are you-"
"He was here!" I choke out. "He was in bed with me!"
"Did he touch you?!" Aiden yells out horrified, and I suddenly don't know what to do with myself. I still feel the warm breath there, still feel it on my shivery skin, and I furiously try to shake the feeling off. "He breathed on my neck and said I was his," I whimper. Aiden grabs the lamp besides him, yanks it off the outlet, and throws it against the wall in one quick, livid second. "Where the hell are you?!" He bellows out. Meena cries out once in fright, and he turns to her, his face immediately softening.
"I'm sorry. Daddy didn't mean to scare you, I'm so sorry sweet heart."
He picks her up in his arms, apologizing softly as he wipes her tears, but still, his eyes look madly around the room. I follow his gaze, wishing desperately one of us could see what we were dealing with. I try to calm myself down when I take one look at Meena's frightened eyes. I take a deep breath and remind myself that I'm fine. I wasn't touched, I wasn't hurt, I'm fine. I repeat that over and over in my mind even as I sit down for breakfast with Meena. I played around with my cereal, without taking a bite. How could I when my eyes burned, my head hurt, and I still wanted to jump out of my skin? "You don't have to go to school today if you don't want. We didn't get much sleep last night," I had told her, but she had refused. "I'll be okay," she muttered. I spent that morning running, pushing myself harder than I've had in weeks. I wanted to run away from that sickening feeling that had stayed with me from the previous night. Who was that shadow man? What made him think I was his? Only after my legs, and lungs ached in protest, did I head home for a shower, before running out the door again. I was scared to be alone. More scared that maybe I wasn't. I spent lunch with my mother and stepfather, and I knew they suspected something was wrong. He would whisper in a low, hushed voice to my mother, like he usually did when he was worried, and she'd talk nonstop, like she usually did when she was worried, but neither asked any questions. I lasted only an hour under their worried gaze, before I decided to leave. I invited Dez to go see a movie, and though she also knew something was wrong, this time she didn't ask anything either. When the movie was over, I sat outside Aiden's office, waiting for him to be out of a meeting with a client. Lisa, the secretary, watched me with concern. Was it so obvious that something was wrong, or was I just being paranoid? Not long after, an elderly couple walked in. The man headed straight over to Lisa, but the woman took a seat across from me, not removing her eyes from me as she did so. I could feel her staring while her husband continued on speaking with Lisa. I tried not to return the gaze, but with each second, I grew more uncomfortable and annoyed. Finally I couldn't take it, and turned to her with an exaggerated sigh, asking her with my eyes what she was staring at me for. She apologizes right away, and fidgets in her seat. "I didn't mean to disturb you, but there's something you should know."
"What is it?"
"Well, all I ask is for you to have an open mind, and to hear me out. It might be difficult to hear, believe me."
I nod at her slowly, though I silently prayed she wasn't going to say what I think she was going to say.
"There's something attached to you," she replies in one fast breath, and I fight the urge to curse. Why can't I have an ordinary day? Just one day, where the supernatural only exists in stories?
"Can you see him? Can you describe what he looks like? Please, I really have to know," I beg her. Hopefully now the shadow man mystery would be solved.
"You knew?" She asks baffled, and I give her a small shrug.
"No dear, I can't see anyone with you, just feel it's presence. It's anger, but it's not directed at you, there's so much hate coming off of it."
"Who is it mad at then?" Aiden?
"Something very dark has latched itself unto you, I can't see it, but it's very powerful. I can feel it's energy, it's strong. With these things, they leave an imprint. It's not with you at the moment, but I doubt it will stay away. It has quite an interest in you."
Just as I'm about to open my mouth to ask more, her husband grabs her hand to help her up. He says "sorry" to me quickly with an apologetic smile while whispering in her ear that she promised she'd stop doing that. I watch them go, but Lisa calls out to me if I'm okay.
"Yeah, can you do me a favor and tell Aiden I'll just meet him at home?"
She nods, and I walk briskly outside, only to find the couple are already taking off in their truck.
When I get home, now more worried than ever, Meena's bus pulls up. She runs out excitedly to me, and I smile at her. At least one of us has had a good day. "How was school?"
"It was great! I made a new friend!" She answers as we reach the front door, and hands over her backpack.
I can see she's clearly in a good mood, but I can't help it when my stomach sinks. What kind of friend? Not someone no one else sees.
"That's great sweetie, what's your friend's name?"
"Dominic! He's new in my class! He's four just like me and defended me when this girl named Casey was mean!"
Now I can't help but grin, so relieved it's a live one. "How did he defend you?"
"She was calling me names, and Dominic pushed her and she fell and started crying like a little baby!" She answers, raiding the fridge.
"Wait, what? No, Meena that wasn't a very nice thing for Dominic to do."
"But he's my friend! Can he come over for dinner?"
"I don't even know his parents, I'm sure they'd want to meet us first before bringing him over."
"Well call them," she insists.
"Little girl, I don't even know them!"
She giggles, "okay big girl, but Dominic said he was coming."
"I'm sure he meant that, but his parents might not agree," I reply, and no sooner had I said it, than when there was a knock on the door.
"Coming Dominic!" She yells as she runs to answer, but I pull her back.
"I'll get it," I correct her. There was no way it was her friend knocking so quickly. Meena had just gotten home.
As I open the door, however, there was a boy waiting. He was pale, had dark black hair, and would be completely ordinary looking, if it wasn't for glint of wickedness behind his charcoal eyes. There was also something chilling about his sudden smirk at seeing me. I even had an overwhelming urge to slam the door on his face, but as he said, "may I come in," I couldn't find it in me to refuse.
