We left off with Mara finding out that Josh loves her and a bit of a cliff hanger revolving around Alaina's possible job transfer. We've got a lot of catching up to do so let's get started! :)

Hello! It has been awhile since I last posted. I got really busy with school and life and had no time to write. But I am above water as of now and am excited to get back to Forever Changing! :) If you haven't already read the first chapter, please do so...things will make a lot more sense if you do! We left off with Mara finding out that Josh loves her and a bit of a cliff hanger revolving around Alaina's possible job transfer. We've got a lot of catching up to do so let's get started! :) "Why do these things always happen to me?" Alaina huffed as she walked up to the furniture store. It had been two months since Alaina left and things were not going well. She hired a rental truck company to drive all of her belongings back to Mesa Grande but things went wrong somewhere around Hidden Springs as the rental truck, and all of her belongings, ended up in the lake. Thankfully, no one was injured, but all of Alaina's things were still ruined. All she wanted was to be back home and surprise her best friend with her return, but first she had to furniture shop. "This store is so confusing!" Alaina barked as she opened yet another door trying to find a room that was staged with adult bedroom furniture. Unfortunately, this room did not contain what she was looking for, at all...
"Anna..." Alaina mumbled awkwardly, "Hi."
Anna raised and turned her head slowly.
"Oh, um, hello! I thought you were in Bridgeport?" Anna stated wearily.
"Yeah, I was. I'm back now though. It's a surprise actually, no one knows yet." Alaina replied.
"Huh, well isn't that exciting. I am just, uh, shopping for my sister's baby shower. It's kind of a surprise too." Anna said awkwardly.
"Well, I'll let you get back to it. I need to be finding some things of my own," Alaina hurriedly stated as she rushed out of the room. After their last encounter Alaina was not too thrilled to run into Anna, and frankly, she just wanted to find some furniture and get home.
After another hour worth of browsing, Alaina finally found some furniture that she liked. Then she hesitantly rented another moving truck, filled out a giant stack of waivers, and drove the truck back to the apartment herself. In an attempt to make the process as quick as possible she drove the truck onto the lawn and called up a few of her neighbors to help her unload the truck. Finally, she was home. Alaina excitedly ran up the steps, shoved her key in the door, and barged into the apartment. Mara, who was inside watching TV, sprang out of her seat when she heard someone messing with the lock. But before she could see what was happening in the hallway, Alaina had already barged inside.
"Alaina, ahhhh!!!" Mara shrieked as they made eye contact.
Mara ran to Alaina and pulled her into a tight hug.
"It is so good to see you!" Mara chirped as she squeezed Alaina.
"You too. I have missed you more than you could ever possibly know!" Alaina replied.
"Well, let's sit and catch up. We've barely talked in two months. I am dying to know what has been happening in your life!" Mara stated excitedly as she broke the hug and headed towards the table.
The two girls sat down at the table just as they always used to do. It was their spot.
"So, what has been going on? Why are you here? Not that I'm not excited to see you, but this is a bit of a surprise...a great surprise of course," Mara stated cheerily.
"Well, to say its been a long two months would be an understatement. The job was so hectic. It consumed my entire life. I didn't have time to do anything but work and sleep, and by sleep I mean an occasional three hour nap that occurred somewhere between the hours of 2 and 5AM." Alaina jabbered.
"Was? What do you mean it WAS hectic?" Mara stated excitedly as her eyes grew wide.
"Yes, was, as in I quit." Alaina replied.
"So, you're back? Like actually back? No more two minute telephone conversations every other week?" You're moving home?" Mara questioned cheerily.
"Yes! Look at the lawn, it's full of my stuff."
"That isn't your stuff...?"
"Long story, just go with it. I am moving back!" Alaina cheered.
"Oh thank goodness, I need you back in my life!"
"What about you? What has been happening around here for the last two months? I already ran into Anna, the most I got from her was that her sister is having a baby."
"She doesn't have a sister, a sister-in-law maybe, but definitely not a sister. She is such a nut." Mara replied with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh whatever, who cares about her. What about you? What is happening with you? Bi-weekly phone conversations don't leave a girl with a lot of details!" Alaina sassed.
"Well, I got a job working at the bakery. Before you say anything, no I do not do the baking. I still can't cook. I work as a waitress and cashier. It isn't riveting, but it pays the bills." Mara babbled.
"Great, great, but uh, what I meant is what is happening with you...and Josh...?" Alaina quickly mumbled.
"Um, well, it is a little complicated," Mara stated as she scrunched her face and raised her hands.
"You see..." Mara stated slowly as she placed her hands together, "we are still not technically dating. But, we are exclusively sleeping together..."
"Oh are so much better than that. What happened? The night before I left you were so fired up. I told you that he loved you, I thought that would lead to something more..." Alaina stated with concern.
"That is the other thing...he still does not know that I know that he loves me..." Mara rambled quickly.
"WHAT!? MARA!" Alaina barked.
"I know, I know, I just didn't want to freak him out!" Mara exclaimed as she put her hands up in defense.
"You have to tell him that you know. It's wrong to hide that. Force him to play his cards!" Alaina demanded.
"I know, I know! We are meeting up today to talk about things, I'll bring it up..." Mara mumbled.
"You better, I gave you that information so that you would do something with it! Goodness."
"Okay, I will. Calm down," Mara replied.
"Good. But uh, I should probably go downstairs and move my things. I kind of parked the moving truck on the lawn...I don't need any of the neighbors calling the cops on me, or stealing my things." Alaina stated.
"Alright, that's fine. I am supposed to meet Josh at his place in a few minutes anyways. We can keep talking later. Let me know if you need any help, I can put Josh to work," Mara half-joked.
"I'll keep that in mind," Alaina stated as she headed out the door.
Meanwhile, at Josh and Anna's apartment, Anna had arrived home from the furniture store.
"Hey Josh, I could use some help with a few boxes of things from the furniture store. And also, I think we need to talk," Anna stated quietly.
"I'll help with the boxes, but I am not having this conversation again. We spent one night together, that is all. We are roommates and friends, nothing more. We both agreed," Josh rambled.
"Uh, yeah, not about that..." Anna mumbled.
"Okay, just let me go grab the stuff. Then when I get back upstairs we can talk," Josh said as he got up from the couch. "Is it all in your car?"
"Yeah," Anna stated. When Josh got outside he opened the back of Anna's crossover to find it absolutely packed to the brim with boxes. He thought nothing of it until he saw one of the pictures on the largest box. He dropped the box in its place and ran back to the apartment.
"Anna!" Josh yelled as he walked back through the door. Anna was standing in the middle of the living room and said nothing.
"Do you have something you want to tell me? And please, make sure it explains what I just found in the back of your car!"
As Mara walked over to Josh's apartment she couldn't help but fall victim to the butterflies in her stomach. Today was going to be the day they got back together, today she was going to tell him not only that she knew that he loved her, but that she loved him back.
While climbing the stairs Mara could hear Josh yelling about something, she thought that maybe she could hear Anna's voice as well.
"Great, this ought to be nice and awkward," Mara thought to herself.
When Mara opened the door the yelling stopped and Josh and Anna quickly turned away from one another. Anna even awkwardly cracked her fingers in a grand motion out in front of herself.
"Uh hi, what's going on? I could hear you guys yelling as I climbed the stairs," Mara questioned. Several moments of awkward silence passed before Anna finally said something.
"Do you want to tell her, or should I?" Anna barked, obviously annoyed with the lack of talking.
Josh's face scrunched up. He was very clearly uncomfortable, which made Mara feel extremely uneasy. She was pretty certain that she did not want to hear about whatever they were just discussing. Several more awkwardly silent moments passed before Josh spoke.
"Uh...Mar, I don't really know how to tell you this, but um -," Josh mumbled. But before he could finish, Anna interrupted him.
"Oh for the love of God, I'll just tell her then. I'm pregnant!" Anna barked. Mara's stomach sank and Josh looked like he was about to pass out. The room grew incredibly quiet once again.
"See, it wasn't that hard," Anna blurted. Josh's face grew paler. Mara's stomach sank further.
"This cannot be happening," Mara thought to herself. Quickly, Mara's denial set in and she became a bit defensive.
"That isn't possible, Josh is with me!" Mara rambled quickly.
"Yeah, and he was also with me...and half of Mesa Grande. I'm surprised this is the first Mailor baby to appear in this town honestly," Anna scoffed as she waved her hand through the air.
"Excuse me? We have been seeing one another exclusively for two months now!" Mara barked.
"That does not change the fact that two months ago Josh and I had sex!" Anna yelled, clearly annoyed and frustrated.
"But he loves me..." Mara mumbled quietly as her eyes began to fill with tears.
"And guess who doesn't care? This baby. Oh, and me!" Anna sassed. Mara said nothing.
"I am having this baby. Josh and I are having a baby. How he feels does not change that." Anna barked as she gestured back and forth between herself and Josh. Mara's heart sank even further because she knew that Anna was right. It didn't matter if Josh loved or her or not because the baby was still coming. Nothing was going to change that.
And that is all for chapter two. I know it was kind of short but it was a catch-up chapter so it kind of had to be.

I hope you enjoyed it regardless of the length! Feel free to leave any feedback, comments, questions, or concerns! :) I am already working on the next chapter so hopefully it will be out soon!

And lastly, I would just like to thank all of the wonderful CC creators as you are all fabulous and I appreciate you oh so very much! :)

Thanks for reading! <3
