TSR Pets CC Bug Fixer - Step 2
Note that you will need to update your game to at least 1.26 for PC, 1.27 for Mac (or install the Pets EP) for any new CC to work which you download after October 20th 2011.
Step 2 - Fixing your Game
Step 2.1 - Patching your existing game files
An icon for "TSR Pets CC Bug Fixer" has been added to your desktop, simply doubleclick it to launch the tool.
Step 2.2 - Notice
The "TSR Rigfix" interface pops up and gives you short instructions on what you need to do. Click OK to close the notice.
Step 2.2 - Granny2.dll
After closing the notice window, a new window will appear telling you that the granny2.dll file has been installed and is OK to use. If you never installed the "Granny Crowd Scene Demo" in step 2/3, go back there and do so first. Click Yes to close the popup.
Step 2.3 - DCCache
Click on the 'Choose File' button and navigate to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache
Change the filter (bottom right) from Package Files to DBC files and select the file dcdb0.dbc in your folder. If you have several files such as dcdb0.dbc, dcdb1.dbc, dcdb2.dbc etc here, simply select all of them.
A list of your installed CC should appear with all files selected by default. Click on 'Fix Selected' and wait for the tool to process the files.
A message appears telling you that your files were converted.
Step 2.3 - DCBackup
Now we want to fix everything in your DCBackup folder so that any objects you package with Lots are also fixed. So, click on 'Choose Folder' and navigate to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCBackup.
Once selected you should see a long list of the .package files you have there. Click on 'Fix Selected' to work some magic on those too.
Your Custom Content downloads should now be fixed in the game! Power users that have Hacks installed will need to do the same with their Hacks folder. We have done some testing with hacks but we don't host those on TSR so we cannot support this process.
So far it looks like it's working - time to patch your content as well!
