My name's Alexandra. This is my story of an experience I had. But first, a bit about myself:

My name's Alexandra. This is my story of an experience I had. But first, a bit about myself: Here's a nice, flattering picture of me. Yes, I did say flattering! I know, I do have a few weight problems, but I'm still happy! I live in a small, but lovely house right opposite the beach! And the house is nautical themed on the inside! I have a lovely daughter named Holly. Yes, I know what you're thinking. How did the ugly gene skip her? Apparently I am pretty, under all of this extra flab. I am trying to lose weight. Okay, I suppose this image of me cramming waffles down my throat doesn't really support that, but I am! Okay, on with the story! It was an ordinary Sunday. I was playing computer games (as per usual), and Holly was clearing up breakfast. All of a sudden, there was a knock at the door. After a while I decided to get up and see who was bothering me. At first I thought it was a glamorous door-to-door saleswoman. But as I looked closer, I realised it was glamorous TV Presenter Victoria James! I invited her in.

"Hello, there! I am Victoria James, presenter of TV's The Ugly Duckling!" she said, beaming.
"What's 'The Ugly Duckling'?" I asked.
"It's a TV show, that I present, in which I choose random women from all over Sunset Valley, and give them a complete makeover!"
"Another makeover show?" I asked
"What do you mean?"
"Loads of people come round offering me a makeover! Let me guess, the Witches of the Neighbourhood Watch have informed you about me?"
"No! of course not! I just knock on doors, and if the person who answers it is an Ugly Duckling, I turn them into a Swan!"
"Who's at the door, Mum?" Holly asked.
"Oh, just another TV Presenter!" I replied.
"Another one? Is she blonde like all the other ones?"
"No, she isn't! She insists that she's different!"
Victoria led me into my front garden, where a giant machine stood before me.

"What is that?" I gasped.
"This is the key to a brand new body! I am going to make you a lot thinner. Remember, there is a 50% of death going into this." she said.
"Really?"
"No, we just say that to scare the audience and contestant. Want to go in?"
I carefully stepped in. Thoughts bounced about my head like a bunch of hyper five-year-olds on a bouncy castle. The door shut, and all I can remember after that was being thrown around like a bunch of hyper five-year olds playing catch. I stepped out, and I was a new woman - literally!

"My goodness, you look great! How was that for you?" Victoria asked.
"Surprisingly painful. But no pain, no gain, I suppose." I replied.
"Exactly! Now, follow me to the living room where I shall proceed with the makeover!"
In the living room, a large makeover station stood where the furniture was.

"Where's the furniture gone?" I asked.
"My little elves moved it around." Victoria replied.
"Very funny! Seriously, who moved it?"
"Like I said, my elves did! Learn to listen, woman!"
"Just step on here, pet," Victoria instructed.
"Is it going to be a good makeover?" I asked.
"Love, it's going to be incredible!
I stepped off the makeover station, and saw how I looked. I looked amazing! "Well then, that's it for your makeover! How was the experience?" Victoria asked.
"I'm very glad I accepted it!" I replied.

And with that, Victoria left.
I went to bathroom and stared at myself in the mirror. There was just something about the look that I didn't like. It wasn't me. *LATER*

"Why am I reading this book? It doesn't make any sense!"
"Hello, Holly." I said.
"Mum? What happened? I thought you had that makeover!" she asked.
"I stared at myself in the mirror. And the person staring back at me wasn't me. It was some glamorous, gorgeous woman." I said.
"But isn't that a good thing?"
"It is, for most people. But for me, I just felt a little bit too different. If I looked like that when I went outside, then men would be chatting me up all the time!"
"Again, isn't that a good thing?"
"For most people, yes! But I don't want to date a man who loves me only for my looks. It's about the personality, not the appearance.
"Good job, Mum! And you're slimmer now!" Holly beamed.
"Well, I think I may keep that bit of the makeover!"
6 Months Later... I am now happily married to man who, like me, is beautiful on the inside. Holly is doing brilliantly in school, and is soon leaving with an A+! None of the family have relied on looks to succeed in our lives. Who needs to?

*The End!*
