Privateer Simeon Perkins and his 2nd wife Elizabeth chat in the Front Parlour of their Liverpool, Nova Scotia home. The adventurous and enterprising Perkins built the house in 1766 and expanded his business as a merchant to include outfitting and commanding privateering ships that plied the waters of the Atlantic during the American Revolutionary War and the Napoleonic Wars. He fathered 9 children including his first son [jolly?]Roger. His diaries are important historical documents for those studying the tumultuous period during the late 1700's. His house is now a museum and open to the public.
