Following a story a young girl called Raven, and her adventures in the world

Ainswoth Manor in all its glory, well what's left of it. Originally an 200 year old stone building slowly being replaced by the modern era. It's previous homely character almost unrecognisable, however it maintained its original shape, and layout. Raven sat quietly next to her father, eyes staring intently to the floor in one spot. Her lip curled inwards, before she flicked her eyes over to his.

"Why are you not wearing your dress?, our guests have already arrived. Hurry get ready Raven" he asked concerned with the time.

"I won't be attending this evenings event" She said hesitantly, whilst squeezing her hands together awaiting his reaction.

(The event was equivalent to debutante ball in the vampire community, but a little more relaxed and sophisticated. Everyone was there to show off their money, power, and reputation.)

Her father looked over with a stern, but disappointed expression "okay, I know I can't make you go" he let out a rather low sigh. "But would you please help with the music, no one else plays as lovely as you do."

Raven smiled briefly to the compliment she had just received. Remembering when she played when she was child. (Lively, and elegant he would always say)

Raven nodded in agreement, taking her Father's hand in reassurance.
As she walked quickly through the walkway, not to interrupt the many guests we had in the home. She bumped into a rather disgruntled Vera.

Vera folded her arms, her expression a mix of disgruntled, annoyed, and disappointment.

(It was Raven's attendance that would always cause Vera to behave in such a way.)

Her eye brow raised toward's Vera's concerned looks. "I'm not attending as a guest, just helping with the music" She spoke calmly, as her eyes gazed away towards the guests.

Vera snapping back at her "Good. We have over 100 guests tonight a blend of the wealthy, and most influential people. Please stick to the music."

(Vera treated her as an outcast due to the previous history that had surrounded Raven, Vera was bitter, and unforgiving, even though she was Raven's half sister)

Raven moved on promptly as she did not want to cause further complications, and unnecessary bickering.
As expected Vera greeted all the guests along with Father. Raven recognised barely anyone, but luckily they did not her either. The avoidance of small talk, and boring conversations were much appreciated. The awkwardness of receiving the question "who are you again?" made her feel more comforted playing the music.

Raven tickled the keys, ensuring the music flowed perfectly, elegant, and with ease. She had been playing from such a young age she could do it with her eyes closed.

Suddenly she felt the warmth of her Father's appreciative smile behind her, as he graced her a pat on the shoulder. However this was followed by a shiver sliding down her spine. A cold unforgiving stare in the corner of her eye. The hairs on her body started to prickle, and tingle.

"I need a break" Raven, muttered under her breathe.

As she brought the melody to a nice and smooth ending. She was greeted with a row of claps; Raven made a brief bow in thanks to her efforts being recognised, however as usual Vera moved the attention over to herself, with the great use of witty, and comical conversation. The limelight always remained on her.

Luckily Raven utilised this moment to sneak into the hallway, and towards the bar.
Raven stepped slowly through the halls. The constant ringing reminder of her father's words was always in the back of her mind "Don't run or you will take a tumble, and that's not very graceful" She chuckled always remembering these words.

"When I was a child I could always get away with it" She thought to herself as she smiled.

As she neared the bar Raven could hear a second set of soft prints moving closely behind her. The same shiver down her spine. "Trouble heading my way" she thought as she sighed to herself.
She took the seat nearest to the wall in the hopes she could have the rest of the evening in peace. Quickly placing an order for a cosmopolitan. The barman had already started making the drink before she had even sat down.

"The barman seems to know me too well" She chuckled to herself.

(The family used the same catering, and bar service every time)

"Can you make it a triple please Jeff" she whispered over to the barman. He swiftly added two more shots of vodka to the drink, before placing it in her hands

"Bad day eh?" he asked questionably. Raven nodded, before giving a weak smile. She downed her first drink in matter of seconds, before signalling discreetly for a second.
Shortly starting her second drink, the figure that seemed be shadowing her into the bar took his seat. Raven glanced over her shoulder, but not acknowledging he had sat down.

The male figure promptly ordered a drink, glancing over at Raven before smirking to himself.

Raven rolled her eyes "He must think i'm just some easy pickings" she thought to herself. Before Raven knew it she had drank her second drink. The male figure taking his chance called over to the Barman "another one for the lady please". His voice was very smooth, proper, and giving the essence of confidence. Not like the modern days where kids would speak with slang, and most of it not making any sense whatsoever.
Not wanting to waste the drink Raven accepted it directly from Jeff the Barman. She was yet to speak a word to the man sat next to her. His eyebrow raised. "Lost your tongue". Raven turned to face him, again with no words, but a few sips from her drink.

She could already feel her cheeks become warm, and rosy. But kept up her appearance to not seem as tipsy as she was. Finally she was ready to say something. The alcohol seemed to give her a strike of confidence. "Got nothing better than to ploy women with drinks?" She questioned.

He grinned. "I think you do not know who I am. Most girls are usually all over me just to get a glimpse of what we have fortune, reputation, and power"

It was true Raven hadn't met anyone in the community she had been kept hidden, and unknown in the background. She just seemed to fade away from everything she had attended. Intently of course. But non the less Raven had the same fortune, power, and the renown family respect. The issue is not everyone got to know who she was, but she liked it that way. Life wasn't handed to her on a gold plate.

The question repeated in her mind "Don't you know who I am?", but then it clicked he was from one of the most reputable, and powerful families amongst the community. He was Luther Ambrose. She gulped realising she may have just severely pissed off the wrong person.

She quickly indicated for another drink. By this time she must have drank almost 6 to 7. She had lost count, by not caring too much. Luther placed his hand under her chin, gently pulled it towards him, and grinned. "So you do know who I am?"

The Barman placed the glass loudly down. Raven pulled her face away, downed her drink, and began to get up. She scowled as she moved at Luther. He seemed to enjoy it even more.
"Cocky, and ignorant; what a great combination" she thought to herself, but had accidentally muttered it under her breathe. He had clearly heard her as his face transitioned into a rather displeased expression.
As she stood up quickly, she had realised she had drank too much. Holding one hand on the wall to support her, as her head began to spin.

"Why now" She thought to herself annoyed with her head and body. She still couldn't handle a drink even being immortal. Raven stumbled backwards
A hand slid underneath the arch of her back, pulling her upright. "Too many to drink" Luther smiled and waved to Barman. "I will sort her out".

Luther pulled her close to him, as he walked her back to the hallway making sure, she would no longer trip. Helping her up the stairs towards one of the private chambers.

Raven knew it. He was enjoying himself more and more to her misfortune.
As Luther kept his hands gently upon her shoulders for support through the house, he heard a very fast paced footsteps walking towards him. He stopped and looked."Alexander Ainsworth" he called out with surprise.

Raven's shoulder started to shake "I am in so much trouble" she thought to herself worrying about her Father's reaction.

"What's the matter with Raven?" He asked concerned about her welfare.

Raven turned to look at her Father "Well..." but before she could continue Luther stepped forward.
He shook Alexander's hand with a firm grip. "She's a little drunk. I do apologise I challenged her to a shot contest, and I believe I won" He lied, whilst smiling at Raven.

Raven put her face in her palms "I hope he's better than lying than I am" she thought.
Alexander smiled "Ah I see... Well I think it might be time for you to retire tonight" He said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "I will take it from here I am sorry to have troubled you Luther"

Luther waved "No trouble, it was a very entertaining evening. Thank you" he winked secretly at her. Raven's cheeks blushed more rosier with embarrassment.

Alexander helped Raven to her room hugging onto her shoulders, and smiled. "I'm sorry Dad, I didn't realise I had drank so much" in reality she knew she had drank that much.

He gave her a kiss on her forehead "It's fine. Sleep it off I will speak to you in the morning" he said laughing.
To Raven's relief she was glad her Father was not disappointed, and gave him a hug before she closed the door. But was profoundly annoyed about Luther sly, and courteous manners had won her Father over so easily. "He's so smug" she said aloud.

She flopped onto the bed, and wrapped her arms around her pulling clutching on tightly, as her head was spinning in circles, and she felt rather disorientated.
