It's here. Part 4 of Chapter 1 of What About Today--oh, frabjous day!

Hope you enjoy . . .
“I got a promotion at work the other day, Pi.” I let my face smile, “That’s great! Great news. Y’know, I’m glad you came all the way out here to tell me. I think you’ll own that company before you even get to be my age. Mom would be proud of you. I know Chelsea’s proud of you. I’m proud of you. Alyssa, too. I know she would have been—” “I wanted to talk to you about that, Pilot. About Alyssa. But first—Pi—Pi, we’re moving. The promotion requires me to move. I wanted to tell you in person because I know how much having us close means to you.” “Moving,” I say. And the word tastes funny in my mouth. “Yeah, we have to be in Moonlight Falls by the end of the summer.” “Moonlight Falls—that’s—that’s.” I stop myself. “Far, I know, Pilot. I’m sorr—” “No. Blake. No. Don’t be sorry, damnit. I am proud of you.” These words are true, and if they are not, then I will think and breathe them until they are. “Plus, I still have—” We said the next word together, “Chelsea.”

We smile.
Hers falls first. “Pilot. Pilot, I’m not going with you.” At first, I do not understand what she means. I can feel my smile falter, can feel the corners of my mouth lowering, “What?” “It’s been eight years. We can let her go by now, can’t we? We can let her rest?” She says “we” but she means “you.” She means “you.” “And so close to your birthday, as well, Pilot. This is not forgetting her. I’m not asking you to forget her—Pilot, Pilot, please don’t—are you even—” “What?” I shout, “What are you saying, Blake. Never—never mind. I won’t make you come. It’s just fine. Don’t then. Me and Sea will just—” “She’s not going, either.” What.” The word was something sure I could latch onto. “I talked to her a couple of weeks ago—she agrees that—” There’s an eruption of terrible noise inside my house. It’s Ruby calling in distress— Woo!
