I had hubby help me with a banner just to have something up other than that generic banner. Mikey stayed home with me today and got the doctors out of the way. I've got a little time to play, I want to see if your house works, so hopefully I'll check in and see ya tonight. What have you been working on?

No, really, that sounds good, because I'd be very worried all the time for breaking rules just by wearing a wrong kind of clothes or not knowing to stay away from places reserved for men only or something like that! I guess you have quite a few friends there anyway, I mean other military staff and their families. That sounds very interesting actually and makes me think of many films and books! $\:\)$ And thank you for your comment in my blog! I can imagine how annoying it can get, all the clothes being sticky and I know I'd be a raving lunatic because my hair wouldn't stay the way I want it to...!! $\:mad\:$ $\:eek\:$ $\:P$ !! I read some of the comments here in your guestbook concerning the very different attitude towards women. It is really very difficult to understand such rules but the fact is that there's no country on earth where there wouldn't be rules that seem quite irrational to outsiders. It must be very interesting for you to be able to get to know such a different culture! It's also a bit dangerous because in a culture like that you - being a woman - can easily break rules without even realising it and I doubt that they have much pity for foreigners...! How long will you be there??

$\:rah\:$ HHA! I'm a genius! There are two pictures in my blog! As you can see, the house is on a steep hill, we have 4 floors in our house and the garden is not the easiest one. On the other hand it's located next to a forest that it doesn't have to look like a park. But there are many things to be done! $\:wub\:$ $\:\)$ Tiina

Cora had a tumor in her stomach and at first our vet said it's malignant. Fortunately it wasn't, she was operated and eventually all went well. - Our garden decoration project is rather long. We bought this house two years ago and renovated it totally. Now we are renovating the yard & the garden. There was a stone wall that had fallen down and that we rebuilt last summer. 4 tons of stones... imagine that! And it was the hottest week last summer, though nothing compared to the weather in Oman!! $\:D$ Now we rebuild all the 4 terraces, put down some more stones to rebuild the paths, replant rescued plats and some new palnt & bushes, too... You see, the whole garden had been neclected and we want to make it look good again. I was going to attach a photo to my blog but for some reason I can't do it... $\:\($ The work is actually great fun. It just takes ages because my husband travels a lot and I have two jobs so there are only some odd weekends when we can work. How's your life in Oman? Yes, different cultures have differnet rules. All cultures have a dark side to them. We just can live with ours becuase it's the evil we know and grew up with, so we don't feel it in the same way. My friend, who is quite active in the Swedish Church, said that when she got confirmed, they studies prejudices against Muslims, and the prejudices Muslims have against Westeners. Quite interesting. Apparently they think that westeners don't love their old and their women, because they don't take care of them. Obviously you have to take this with a grain of salt, considering the source, but there might be a grain of truth in it. We are very selfish and individualistic in our society, perhaps to a fault. I don't know. It's very hard to look at it objectively. Sorry to philosophise all over you gb, I just think these issues are really interesting. //Dragoness
